Founded in 1972 in Garland, Texas, Argon Medical Devices is a global manufacturer and supplier of specialty
medical products headquartered in Plano, Texas, with manufacturing in both Texas (Athens) and Singapore
(Yishun).
Argon offers a broad line of medical devices for Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Interventional
Cardiology, and Critical Care procedures. Argon has successfully grown into a leading Global supplier of devices

The Argon OptionTM IVC Filter is used for the prevention of recurrent pulmonary embolism.
Designed for both permanent and retrievable IVC Filter placement, the Argon OptionTM IVC Filter offers the safety and
stability required for permanent placement coupled with proven long term retrievability.
Suitable for caval diameters up to 32mm, with no minimal caval restrictions, and deployed via a 6.5Fr OD (5Fr ID) x 70cm
low-profile delivery sheath with infusion port, Option’s precise placement is aided by the use of an innovative over-thewire curved pusher system.
The spiral coiled sheath provides increased column strength and kink-resistance for ease of tracking, pushability, and
delivery.
Dilator, with 32mm spaced radiopaque markers for rapid vena cava measurement and helix formation end-holes compatible
with power injectors up to 800 psi.
Single, colour coded filter cartridge for Femoral or Jugular placement.
Durable, one piece design of filter reduces the risk of fracture caused by bending stress2.
Resilient, electropolished, nitinol hypotube filter construction improves resistance to fracture caused by cyclic stress1.
The transitionless and sturdy design of the hook allows for ease of snaring and reduced risk of hook deformation during
retrieval.
The stable filter base conforms to the caval anatomy, reducing caval penetration3 and aids in centering the filter whilst
innovative retention anchors are designed to prevent caudal and cephalid migration.
These curved, non-flexible anchors reduce caval wall penetration and provide the balance between stability and retrievability.

maceration and 15mm sinusoidal wire amplitude for enhanced removal of wall-adherent thrombus.
Drive unit rotates the sinusoidal wire at up to 4,500 rpm creating a fluid vortex and gently macerating thrombus whilst
reducing the risk of endothelial damage¹.
The Cleaner*/Cleaner15TM single sinusoidal wire is capable of cleaning around the opposing sheath, thereby reducing
procedure time and sheath manipulation.

Argon UltraStreamTM patented, dual independent arterial lumen design provide high flow rates of 500ml/min and allow for
continued functional dialysis should infusion be restricted to one arterial lumen. Dual arterial lumens also reduce the risk
of catheter ‘side walling’. The unique, transitionless, modified-tip design facilitates atraumatic over-the-wire insertion for
‘first-time’ or ‘Exchange’ insertions, without requirement for a peel-away sheath. Shortened length between distal lumens
allows for more accurate tip placement whilst achieving zero recirculation rates during normal flow1. Kink resistant Carbothane®
catheter material provides strength for catheter longevity and softness for patient comfort. The Carbothane® thermo-sensitive
biocompatible material is radiopaque for increased visibility whilst being resistant to iodine and alcohol degradation. Durable
luer catheter connectors with easy-to-read printed priming volumes are ergonomically designed to withstand multiple

design of the Argon AXcessTM introducer provides smooth insertion and minimises catheter peelback.
The AXcessTM introducer polyurethane obturator minimises damage to vessel intimal lining whilst the Flex Collar, with
Suture Tab, reduces kinking risk and provides a convenient suture site.
The siliconised valve and dilator facilitates ease of insertion and low insertion torque whilst the positive twist-lock dilator
assembly prevents dilator push-back during insertion.
The 3-Part hemostasis Valve of the Argon AXcessTM introducer prevents bleedback by effectively sealing around the
inserted wire and catheter.

Argon1SticTM Micro-Introducers with integrated sidearm are designed to support smaller puncture site access for both arterial and
venous procedures allowing the physician to insert an introducer utilising micro-puncture technology.
Shorter sheath (5.75cm) versions designed for venous procedures in the neck or arm, the smooth transition between introducer sheath
and dilator provides atraumatic, low-profile insertion, minimising the risk of vessel trauma and catheter peelback. The 1SticTM micro tapered dilator transitions from 0.5Fr (for 0.018’’ micro-access guidewire) to maximum French size whilst the Flex Collar, with Suture Tab,
reduces kinking risk and provides a convenient suture site.
The siliconised valve and dilator facilitates ease of insertion and low insertion torque whilst the positive twist-lock dilator assembly
prevents dilator push-back during insertion. The 3-Part hemostasis Valve of the Argon 1SticTM catheter prevents bleed-back by effectively
sealing around the inserted wire and catheter.
Radiopaque Pebax (Polyether Block Amide) sheath material with clear PVC sideport tubing, these introducer sets are available with a
choice of Stainless Steel or Nitinol/Platinum guidewires, along with Echogenic introducer needle option, for increased visibility under
Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound, whilst the 4Fr-8Fr introducer sizes allow for multiple device exchanges during procedure.

Argon MicroSticTM Micro–Introducer, double dilator systems are designed to support smaller puncture site access for
arterial applications and left heart procedures.
Argon MicroSticTM Micro-Introducer systems eliminate the need to dilate up using multiple dilators and result in a tight
seal around catheter by the vessel. A seamless transition between introducer sheath and dilator enablies a smooth, lowprofile insertion, thereby minimising the risk of vessel trauma and catheter peelback.
Introducer sets are available with a choice of Stainless Steel, Nitinol/Platinum or Nitinol/Stainless guidewires, along with
Echogenic introducer needle option, for increased visibility under Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound. The positive twist-lock dilator assembly prevents dilator push-back during insertion.

With choice of ‘Open’ or ‘Finger grip’ (Block) design, with 2, 3 or 4 valve ports, all Argon Manifolds have ‘Left’ or ‘Right’
rotating adapter to best meet specific procedural needs and physician preferences.
Manifold valves with tight tolerances, low torque and smooth port rotation.
Choice of ‘Open’ or ‘Block’ body design and clear polycarbonate body for easy bubble visualisation, the manifolds
construction will withstand injections and are rated at 500 psi.
Threaded ISO standard luer fittings with funnelled tapered ports to minimise bubble entrapment.
Celcon taps for smooth rotation movement, with positive handle stops and labelled handles for easy identification.
Manifold Distal Rotating Adapter facilitates easy catheter manipulation.
Argon High Pressure Injection Lines are available in clear, semi-rigid PVC and Flexible Braided Polyurethane with or
without Rotating Adapter.
Argon High Pressure Injection Lines are designed to provide optimal flexibility, easy debubbling and secure connections

An innovative approach to risk management:
Argon Hydrocath AssureTM is a range of single, double and triple lumen polyurethane central venous catheters, designed
for catheterisation by the Seldinger technique.
Every catheter is coated with a hydrophilic substance activated by biological fluids, which facilitates the insertion of the
catheter and reduces the potential adhesion of bacteria or formation of thrombus.
In addition, the Hydromer hydrophilic matrix is impregnated with the antimicrobial agent Benzalkonium Chloride (BZC).
BZC is bactericidal against a broad spectrum of microorganisms which are known to colonise central venous catheters.
Argon Hydrocath AssureTM has been proven to reduce bacterial colonisation of catheters in critically ill patients1.

BZC impregnated and hydrophilic coated polyurethane catheter, Argon VenaGuideTM Seldinger wire advancing system with NiTiNol guidewire, needle

Designed for ease of use and minimal wavelength distortion
Haemodynamic monitoring information is used to manage the care of critically ill patients. It is therefore essential that you are
confident about the accuracy of the information that you are using. Fluid filled pressure monitoring systems will cause some
distortion to the pressure waveform. Up to 40% distortion has been shown in some cases.1
Accuracy in pressure monitoring isn’t just dependent on the transducer, it’s dependent on all the components in the pressure
monitoring system; catheter, pressure tubing, monitor filter and stopcocks. It has been shown2 that in order to know the accuracy
of your system, you need to consider the performance of the total chain where all the components are linked together.
As a manufacturer we believe we have a responsibility to provide you with
information about the accuracy of the whole monitoring system, not just the
transducer. Therefore, Argon has selected a range of standard Argon DTX
PlusTM sets which are Gabarith tested.2
The Argon GabarithTM test remains the only scientific technique that provides
information about the dynamic response performance of the total pressure
monitoring system (total chain).
The Argon GabarithTM test assesses the system against pre-set windows of error
(2%, 5% and 10% waveform distortion). For example: If the dynamic response
of a pressure chain falls within the 10% Gabarith window then we know the
pressure waveform will not be distorted by more than 10%.3

Windows of tolerance are based on catheter tip sensor results (the ’gold’ standard) using real patient data.
Every box of Argon DTX PlusTM pressure monitoring sets is stamped with the Argon GabarithTM symbol. This shows that the set
has passed the Argon GabarithTM test and has a known level of accuracy. The Argon GabarithTM test exceeds the demands of
the AAMI standard (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation).

Argon Safedraw-PTM arterial blood sampling systems are a unique range of invasive pressure monitoring sets designed for
closed loop, safe arterial blood sampling procedures.
Whole blood samples are collected via direct luer-slip access into the unique Safedraw-PTM split-septum blood sampling

Argon DTX PlusTM Paediatric and Neonatal Transducer Systems are a range of ‘Standard’ and ‘Closed loop’ SafedrawTM and
Safedraw-PTM safe arterial blood sampling invasive pressure monitoring sets specifically designed with the Paediatric and
Neonatal patient in mind. Whole blood samples are collected in the ‘closed-loop’ SafedrawTM and Safedraw-PTM sets either
via the SafedrawTM self-sealing silicone septum or via direct luer-slip access into the unique Safedraw-PTM split-septum
blood sampling port. SafedrawTM and Safedraw-PTM safe arterial blood sampling systems significantly reduce unnecessary
blood discard and facilitate the safe return of diluted blood back to the infant, thereby safely conserving blood volume whilst
reducing the risk of iatrogenic anaemia and cross contamination. The system’s design facilitates easier blood sampling and
superior clinical samples, thereby achieving more reliable laboratory values.
Unique Argon GabarithTM testing of these Paediatric and Neonatal sets, using total haemodynamic chain concept, offers the
opportunity for improved haemodynamic accuracy. Configured for use with an Infusion Pump, Argon DTX PlusTM Paediatric
and Neonatal Transducer Systems are individually packed, sterile, non-pyrogenic and latex-free.

Argon DTX PlusTM Flexi Transducer Systems are a range of invasive pressure monitoring sets designed to improve
Procurement stocking efficiency through facilitating appropriate set configuration selection whilst minimising unused set
component wastage. In the Flexi configuration the Arterial disposable transducer system is used as the ‘master’ line.
When clinically required, additional lines are connected to this ‘master’ line in a cascade. This is achieved via an additional
stopcock positioned on the administration set side of the transducer, thereby having no impact on dynamic response.
This innovative Flexi solution, offering the adaptability of single, or multiple transducer set configurations, facilitates set
selection, set-up time whilst minimising storage costs.
Available in Standard set format, SafedrawTM or Safedraw-PTM Closed-loop, arterial blood sampling formats, Argon DTX

Argon RT2000 Reusable Transducer and Disposable Domes and Dome Systems are engineered to improve cost efficiencies
by reducing disposal costs and biological wastage generation whilst maintaining pressure waveform accuracy and
reliability.
With the Argon RT2000 system only the sterile disposable dome components are discarded after each patient use whilst
the reusable RT2000 transducer is retained ready for the next patient’s use. This enables the cost per patient set-up to be
lower than fully disposable transducer systems and minimises environmental impact by reducing the volume of hazardous
waste generated per patient.
The one-handed ‘snap-on’ dry coupling system for engagement of the disposable sterile dome set with the Argon RT2000
reusable transducer system is simple and quick to perform, thereby minimising initial set-up time. The straight and visible
fluid pathway enables the disposable dome to fill, bubble-free with minimal effort. The integrated flush device and venting
EasyVent zeroing stopcock provide quick, effective fluid control.
Argon RT2000 systems are available in Flexi format and with the SafedrawTM and Safedraw-PTM safe arterial blood sampling
systems. These systems are designed to significantly reduce unnecessary blood discard and blood spillage, thereby
reducing the risk of iatrogenic anaemia and cross contamination to patients and staff. Whole blood samples are collected

Cardiac Cath Lab Transducer sets are designed to meet the challenges and requirements of your cardiac catheterisation
laboratory.
Where accurate pressure readings are vital, Argon’s long history in pressure monitoring and transducer development, dating
back to the first reusable transducer in 1946, has resulted in the Argon DTX PlusTM transducer set options.
With ease of priming and de-bubbling, with ‘standard’ and 106cm (42’’) cable option and a choice of flush and no-flush
versions, the Argon DTX PlusTM transducer sets facilitate accurate pressure monitoring within the Cath Lab environment.
Argon high pressure manifolds are supplied with a choice of ‘Open’ or ‘Finger grip’ (Block) design, 2, 3 or 4 ports, and
having either ‘Left’ or ‘Right’ rotating adapter to best meet specific procedural needs and physician preferences.
Manifolds designed with tight tolerances, low torque and smooth port rotation and manifold Distal Rotating Adapter facilitates
easy catheter manipulation. Choice of ‘Open’ or ‘Block’ body design and clear polycarbonate body for easy bubble visualisation,
the manifolds construction will withstand injections and are rated at 500 psi.
Available in clear, semi-rigid PVC and Flexible Braided Polyurethane with or without Rotating Adapter, Argon High Pressure
Injection Lines are designed to provide optimal flexibility, easy debubbling and secure connections and are rated up to
1200 psi.
Argon Control Syringes are available with choice of ‘Thumb Ring’ or ‘Palm Pad’ design, ‘Finger Ring’ vs ‘Finger Grip’, and
10cc vs 12cc volume options to best suit most Clinical Needs and hand sizes. Control syringe low friction plunger provides
for a smooth injection, bold volume markings facilitate accurate volume injections, whilst the clear polycarbonate body
provides a sturdy syringe able to withstand any hand pressure whilst facilitating for easy bubble visualisation. 10cc or 12cc
volume options for larger handed use.
Choice of syringe Palm Pad designs, including ‘soft touch’ options, allows for full force palm injections and thumb ring
design facilitates aspirations and injections whilst choice of finger grip or ring style to meet most clinical needs.
Contrast Saver Administration set options available to reduce Contrast wastage and reduce risk of air entering the system.
Argo-BagzTM 1,500ml PVC bag Waste Management System options, High Pressure stopcocks (850 psi rated) and other
componentry also available to enhance kit functionality. Argon Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory DTX PlusTM Transducer
Set Configurations are available as ‘Off-the-shelf’ options. (Other Cath Lab configurations and Custom kit configuration
