Following breakfast at your hotel, begin the day with a Virginia Beach Riding Tour and learn about the
fascinating history of the area and get the pulse on current day Virginia Beach. Drive down the famous
resort strip, see the historic Cape Henry Lighthouses and the First Landing Cross - site where the settlers
landed in 1607 prior to establishing the first permanent colony at Jamestown.
Next is a tour of Naval Station Norfolk, the largest naval installation in the world. See the mighty ships
and aircraft as well as the historic homes on Admiral’s Row.
Stop at MacArthur Center for lunch on your own then visit the MacArthur Memorial for a glimpse into
the nation’s history, where guests will see where the five-star General Douglas MacArthur and his wife
are entombed. View the 11 galleries of exhibits and can watch a short introductory film.
A stop will be included at Doumar’s, home of the world’s first ice cream cone. Guests will learn the
history of this family-owned business where the ice cream cone machine was invented and debuted at
the World’s Fair over one hundred years ago. Guests will also enjoy a yummy ice cream treat.
Return to the hotel for a rest before dinner at Rockafellers – a local’s favorite featuring fresh seafood
and views of the deep water fishing fleet at Rudee Inlet.

After breakfast, depart with your tour guide to downtown Norfolk and enjoy reserved seating at the
Parade of Nations. Explore 28 countries in a day without a passport at NATOFest. Sample international
cuisine with lunch on your own, and take in performances and sights at the beautiful Town Point Park.
Stop at Nauticus, a nautical museum, where guests will learn about the power of the sea, experience
ship handling first hand and pet a shark. Visit the museum and enjoy a self-guided tour of the Battleship
Wisconsin—the largest battleship that served in WWII, the Korean War and the Persian Gulf War.
Next will be a visit to the Chrysler Museum of Art, overlooking the Hague in Norfolk’s historic Ghent,
this museum was recognized as one of the top art museum collections in the country by The Wall Street
Journal. There is also a beautiful outdoor sculpture gallery and a new state of the art glass studio that
can be explored on the museum grounds.
Continue on to explore the historic seaport city of Norfolk with a Norfolk Riding Tour to learn about its
colorful 335-year history, riding through the lovely historic district and restored areas.
Dinner tonight is at the “Taste of Tattoo,” a unique pre-performance dining experience at a special
venue featuring a plentiful, traditional Southern buffet accompanied by entertainment from official
Tattoo performers. Then it’s on to the main event—the Virginia International Tattoo where guests will
have premium seating of this most awe-inspiring spectacle of patriotism on parade.

Following breakfast, depart for a visit to the beautiful Botanical Gardens to see the azaleas, dogwoods
and other indigenous flora and fauna in full bloom. Guests will enjoy a narrated trackless train ride
through the gardens and have time to shop the unique gift shop.
Enjoy a champagne brunch with a live jazz quartet aboard the Spirit of Norfolk. Feast on a sumptuous
buffet and enjoy the many fascinating sights as you cruise through the Hampton Roads Harbor.
Hear stories about fascinating shipwrecks and legends off the shores of Virginia Beach at the Old Coast
Guard Station.
Return to your hotel on the Boardwalk for free time to explore and enjoy a relaxing dinner on your own.
