Summit in Focus
Summit School is being featured in this
Thursday’s issue of the Oconomowoc Focus.
The “Focus in the Classroom” article will highlight the work all of our students have been
doing with argument and opinion writing.
Students begin writing opinions and presenting arguments in kindergarten! Be sure to
read the article to learn how students’ writing
grows from giving their first persuasive speech
in kindergarten to persuasive essays that lead
to activism in fourth grade. You’ll be impressed by the work our students have done
and their desire to make a difference!
PTO Carnival
Our entire school community looks forward to
the PTO Carnival each year. This year promises to be one to remember!
This year’s carnival includes:
a cake walk
silly string wars
giant bike races
a dunk tank
chances to win a goldfish
bounce houses & slides
& an expanded food menu.
Today, students are bringing
home order forms for pre-paid carnival tickets.
This is for your convenience; tickets may also
be purchased at the event. In order for the
evening to be a success, we need YOU to volunteer for a 30 minute session! Please call Jen
Fickling at (262) 443-3850 to volunteer.
2013-14 Registration Packets
On Tuesday, June 4, students will be bringing
home registration packets in brightly colored
envelopes. The envelopes contain information
on how to register on-line, a supply list, open
house information, a letter from Mrs. Wilson,
school picture information, 2013-14 school caldendar, and PTO information. Please save
these envelopes until July 8th, when on-line
registration opens.

Congratulations, Ms. LaGrange!
Summit’s art teacher, Ms. Jill LaGrange, was
selected as the 2013 Art Educator of the Year
by the Wisconsin Art Education Association. In
more than 20 years as an art educator, Ms. LaGrange has never repeated the
same art project! Her creativity
inspires students’ artwork throughout the school...inside and out!
Congratulations, Ms. LaGrange!
New Entrance Procedure
A new buzzer & speaker entrance has been installed at the front door of the school office. People entering the building after 8:40 a.m. will
need to press the buzzer in order to enter the
office from the vestibule. Please be advised that
it may take office staff a moment or two to open
the door for visitor entry after they hear the
buzzer. Your patience is appreciated!
ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT!
The last day to bring in Box Tops is Thursday,
May 23rd. The grade that has
the highest year-long total will
get to SOAK their teachers,
Mr. Dirkmann and Mrs. Wilson after our Field Day!
