Geography
Religion
Constantinople is surrounded on three
sides by water, making it hard to attack. It
has deep harbors perfect for sheltering
ships of all sizes. The population of our
wonderful city is 500,000 people.
Constantinople sits in the perfect route
for trade between Europe and Asia. The
long wall around our city holds many
watchtowers, which are comforting to the
residents. We know that we won’t be
attacked without warning.
In Constantinople, we follow the
Eastern Orthodox Church. We worship
icons just like the Roman Catholic Church.
The Hagia Sophia is one of the grandest
churches that exist. Its dome is its most
famous feature. It is currently the largest
cathedral in the world!
Government
Emperor Justinian is a powerful and
commanding emperor. He has been strong
and successful in his conquests, conquering
all of Italy, much of northern Africa, and a
bit of Spain. Justinian is our emperor, the
Holy one, who is God’s representative on
Earth. He has created the great church,
the Hagia Sophia. He has completely
refurbished Constantinople, from public
baths to lovely parks. He has remodeled
the old system of laws to make them more
organized and understandable. Justinian is
one of the best emperors we could ask for.
Commerce and Trade
Constantinople stands at the crossroads
between Europe and Asia. Traders come
from all over the continents. Grain and silk
are some of the things imported into our
city; oil, wine, fish, meat, vegetables, salt,
timber, wax, ceramics, linen, and wooden
cloth are some things we trade away.
Constantinople is a very wealthy city.
