Draw and cut out the following sandwich ingredients on sheets of colored paper as indicated below: Bread – white Lettuce leaf – green Tomato slice – red Cheese – yellow Sandwich meat – pink or brown Bread – white On the first slice of bread – Write the title and author of the book you have read. On the lettuce – Describe the setting (time and place) in at least two sentences. On the tomato slice – Describe each of the main characters. On the slice of cheese – Summarize the book’s important events (5 sentences minimum). On the sandwich meat slice – Reveal the book's climax (a moment of great intensity in the plot that generally brings events to a head and leads to the conclusion). On the second slice of bread – Draw a favorite scene from the book and write a brief description. When all ingredients are assembled, collate the layers of the sandwich (i.e. staple, hole punch and combine with a key ring or yarn, etc.).
