Pedestrian Route (scenic version) from Godalming Station to Charterhouse (1.3 miles / 30mins) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Take the road exit to the left (North Eastish) from the station on “Station Approach”. Then turn left onto “Station road”, then turn left onto “Borough Road”. Church of St Peter on your RHS. Over river bridge. Under rail bridge. 20 yards after rail bridge, turn left onto start of footpath. Takes you over the entry-road to the office complex, and then into the river-walk proper.1 Stay on the main path all the way, and this will lead you out onto Peperharow Road, directly opposite the entrance to Rackets Court Hill.2 7. Go up straight up Rackets Court Hill (rackets courts 20 yds back from road on LHS). 8. If you survive The Hill, you’ll be treated to a vista of the school appearing in front of you and the same sinking feeling experienced by generations of pupils when returning from a free afternoon in the town. N 1 If the footpath is flooded, we suggest you avoid it altogether and go along Borough Road to Charterhouse Hill (and continue as per the next note). 2 You may find a vehicle barrier across the road just after the rackets courts. You should be able to walk round it. If you can’t, then you may need to go along Peperharow Road (back towards Godalming), then turn left onto Charterhouse Hill. Halfway up, just after the overhead bridge, turn right and dog leg back onto the bridge itself which takes you into the back of the school. From Borough Road, footpath is signposted on your left just after going under the railway bridge. Footpath not marked on Google, so red line doesn’t follow the exact meanders of the route. N
