Ben Bowler is an Australian with a background in sales and marketing who in 2007 took a
change of direction to do some development work in Thailand. Together with his Dutch wife
Jildou they founded Blood Foundation, an NGO based along the Thai-Burma border focusing
on education for migrant communities.
In 2008 Ben founded Monk for a Month, a unique temple-stay program allowing foreigners full
immersion into a Thai Buddhist experience. The program also operates in the Tibetan tradition
in northern India. In 2010 Muslim for a Month was formed in Turkey added followed by the Sufi
Mystic Experience and The Interfaith Express. The programs are designed to give participants
a privileged insiders view of other cultures and world-views and to breakdown
misconceptions and stereotypes through the vehicle of actual, personal experience.
In 2011 a new brand was created - World Weavers bringing the various projects under the
one umbrella.
Ben lives in Melbourne with his wife and 2 children.
