TITANIUM USAGE IN OIL, GAS & MARINE APPLICATIONS
The vast majority of all metals used in the Oil and Gas Industry requires the material of choice to meet several critical criteria including : excellent corrosion
resistance : high strength : high strength to weight ratio.
Titanium is able to address all of the above requirements based on it's inherent characteristics. Titanium is used in many areas including service water systems
and fire main because of it's metallurgical capabilities, but also because it offers reduced maintenance costs, and weight reduction capabilities. In this type of
application each pound of weight saved below the surface also generates a savings of three to five pounds on the platform itself and its anchoring system.
Because of its high strength, low weight and corrosion resistance properties in salt water and marine environments, the range of application using titanium
continues to expand. To date we have supplied materials and products such as straps, bolts, machined parts, plate, sheet , bar and tube for use on floatation
devices, heat exchangers, storage tanks and many other applications.
