CVCS Mission Statement
CVCS offers a rigorous academic program
designed to meet the individual needs of
each student. CVCS will promote leadership,
civic responsibility, and environmental
awareness. Through community
engagement, CVCS students will understand
their effects on the world around them. The
School offers the community a parent-driven
public school choice in which teachers,
students, and parents are partners.

28: Field Day! Begins at 11:00
29: Last day of school—release at 11:00am

17: First day of class for the 2015-2016 year
Thursday, May 28 is Field Day. The students will enjoy a hotdog lunch before the activities, so each student needs to
bring one item from the following list to be enjoyed by the entire school:
Kindergarten: 2 dozen cookies 1st grade: 1 bag of chips
2nd grade: watermelon or veggie plate
3rd grade: 1 pack hotdog buns 4th grade: fruit or veggie plate 5th grade: 1 pack hotdog buns
6th and 7th grades: 1 package hotdogs
Please bring your food by 8:00am Thursday!
The school day is a regular day until lunch time when the hotdog feast begins! After lunch the students
will participate in field day events until classes are dismissed at the regular time. Please call if you have
any questions!
Governing Council Announcement:
The CVCS Governing Council is pleased to announce that Kim Schaffer has accepted our
offer to become CVCS' Administrator! Mrs. Schaffer will officially become the CVCS
Administrator on June 1st, 2015. Mrs. Schaffer brings many talents to CVCS, including her
passion for our great school and support for our wonderful teachers and staff.
We look forward to the new school year with Mrs. Schaffer and wish her much success
in her new role.
Report Cards Issued Friday, May 29
All library books, classroom books, and lunch bills must be paid in order to
receive a report card on Friday. Call Jill with any questions.
Last day of school: Friday May 29. School will
be dismissed at 11:00am

Dymond has brothers Kendrick-17, Darius-14; and sisters, Raelene-14, Justus-10, and Deondrah-11. She has Chihuahuas named IDK, Lucky, Molly, and Lazy. In her free time, Dymond likes to sleep, eat, and swim. Dymond has been to
T or C. When Dymond grows up, she wants to be a famous dancer. Congratulations, Dymond, you are a superstar!!
School supplies, books, lunch boxes, etc. left in the classrooms after the
last day of school will be thrown away. PLEASE make sure your child
brings home all belongings! If your child leaves school before the last
day of class, his/her supplies will NOT be saved, so be sure and clean out
all possessions before you leave school. Thank you!

food drive will continue for
the remainder of the week,
so please bring your nonperishable food donations and drop
them off in the classroom. Thank you!
Please continue to save your BoxTops, Labels for Education (especially Pepperidge
Farm & Goldfish labels) and used toner cartridges over the summer. All of these
earn money that is used for field trips and
classroom supplies.
