Spine fractures can result in: • height loss • a rounded back (spine) • back pain • more broken bones • disability Are you losing height? Have I lost 2 cm (3/4”) or more in height as measured by my health care provider, or 6 cm (2 1/2”) or more overall from when I was a young adult? 2. Do I have a more rounded spine? If you have answered yes to either of these two questions, talk to your doctor and insist on a spine x-ray (thoracic and lumbar). Over 50? All men and women over 50 should have their height measured annually to assess for a possible spine fracture.
