Enhanced Functionality in a Compact, Explosion-Proof Enclosure
Optimizing liquid flow metering operations requires
technology that provides critical data in real time. The
new Daniel DRT-899 Pulse Input Rate/Totalizer offers the
flexibility to easily view the flow rate or total along with
the ability to toggle between user-selected values in an
easy-to-read, wide angle display.
The unit can be custom configured with a 5-digit rate or
total on the top line and a 7-character total or grand total
along with the unit of measure on the bottom line. The
device also allows for automatic K-factor unit conversions
to eliminate the possibility of manual calculation errors.
The compact, explosion-proof enclosure and backlit
display further enhance the device’s functionality.
Four sensors on the face of the display allow for local
programming and operation through the glass for safe use
in hazardous environments. There is no need to remove
the cover. In addition, a single lithium battery provides
backup to ensure continuous, reliable performance.

Two Daniel DRT-899 models are available to fulfill power, output
and communication requirements, including Modbus. The
Modbus protocol-enabled model allows all parameters to be
accessed remotely for programming or verification and provides
enterprise-wide access for up to 1,024 data logs to simplify
accounting and auditing.

Ensure Measurement Accuracy with Automatic K-factor Unit Conversions
Following meter calibration, it is quick and easy to set up the
DRT-899 rate/totalizer to display the rate and total of choice.
Simply enter the defined K-factor and units of measure (i.e.
pulses/gal, etc.). This step allows the meter to automatically
convert the rate, total and grand total displays to any of 12
predefined units, including liters, gallons, imperial gallons,

barrels and hectoliters. Custom units can also be entered with a
user-defined conversion factor. It is also necessary to program the
rate time of choice (i.e. seconds, minutes, hours or days) and total
multiplier of choice (i.e. x1, x100, x1,000 or x1,000,000) to prevent
rollover. Once these settings are programmed, all calculations are
automated with no additional math or conversion factors required.

operators to quickly configure the DRT-899 Rate/Totalizer. The
PC-based software offers an intuitive interface to streamline
programming and enable custom configuration with no
special skills required. Dropdown menus further simplify the
process and prompt users to select the rate, total and/or grand
total to display along with preferred units of measure, time base,
tags, toggle timing, alarm functions and more. The software also
ensures the configuration can be easily saved for retrieval and
copying to streamline installation of multiple DRT-899 units now
