TECHNICAL NOTE : WIRED SUNSWITCHES
Our Sunswitch Operating Instructions describe the following Diagnostic Messages:
ES : Energy Saving Mode
W : Winter Mode
Er : (steady) Faulty Cold Sensor
Er : (flashing) Faulty Roof Sensor
LO : Service Lock Out
CO : Continuous Operation
EE : Software Fault
Listed below are extra Diagnostic Messages that will assist those in customer service:
01 : (and other unusually very low readings). This indicates Roof temp sensor is reading very high
(low resistance could be due to moisture in a connection). Test by connecting a new sensor lead
directly to the hot sensor exiting the controller box. (Operate the pump manually in order to get the
temperature reading). If the display reads a normal temperature then check the hot sensor circuit
for faults.
00 : This indicates Roof temp sensor is close to open circuit (could be broken wire or faulty
sensor). Test by connecting a new sensor wire directly to the hot sensor exiting the controller
box. (Operate the pump manually in order to get the temperature reading). If the display reads a
normal temperature then check the hot sensor circuit for faults.
“00” in the display can also indicate that the customer has recalibrated the temp right down to
zero. To do this they would have held the Set Temp button for 10 secs and then decreased the temp
to zero (00) by pressing the down arrow multiple times. To reset refer to Readout Calibration in the
operating instructions.
99 : This indicates Roof temp sensor is close to a short circuit (could be damaged or bared wires).
Test by connecting a new sensor wire directly to the hot sensor exiting the controller box. (Operate
the pump manually in order to get the temperature reading). If the display reads a normal
temperature then check the hot sensor circuit for faults.
