To understand the Kelvin Scale for
measuring temperature
Celsius was developed around water freezing and boiling. Kelvin was
developed around the absolute minimum temperature, –273 0𝐶
To convert between Celsius and
Kelvin, add 273
E.g. 100 0𝐶 = 173 + 273 = 373K
To convert between Kelvin and
Celsius subtract 273
E.g. 173K = 173 – 273 = 100 0𝐶
Why are they there no negative temperatures in Kelvin?
Zero Kelvin is the coldest it can get (absolute Zero)
