Installation Instructions for MedWare
by Sage and MedWare Chart
1.
Please close all open programs prior to installing MedWare Chart. You will
need to restart your computer once installation is complete. Insert the MedWare Chart CD-ROM in drive. Installation should begin automatically (skip
to Step 3). If installation does not begin automatically, go to step 2.
2.
Open My Computer. Double click on MedWare Delmar CD. Installation
should begin.

Click Next on the Chart Welcome screen.
4.
The MedWare Chart User Manual screen appears. Click Next. (Note:
supporting documentation is available from the Online Companion accompanying this book, at www.delmarlearning.com/companions.)
5.
On the Chart License page, you must accept the terms of the license agreement. Check the radio button next to “I accept the terms of the license
agreement” and Click Next.
6.
Fill out your Customer Information and click Next.
7.
Choose “Complete” as the setup type. Click Next.

9. First, the program will automatically install the Microsoft SQL server desktop engine. Do not cancel this installation.
10. Chart (Delmar Edition) will automatically install next. Do not cancel this

14. When the computer restarts, you will have two new icons on your desktop:
MedWare by Sage, and MedWare Chart Program.

15. Double click the MedWare by Sage icon.
16. A dialog box will pop up, prompting you to set up the Eligibility Feature.
Click Setup Now.

18. On the next screen, click Install. Click Finish when complete. Close any
MedWare open applications.
19. Setup is now complete for MedWare by Sage and MedWare Chart.
20. Proceed to the next set of instructions to create authorized users for MedWare Chart. You will need to create authorized users in order to work in
the program.
Logging in to MedWare Chart
for the First Time
Prior to working in MedWare Chart, you must create authorized users on your computer. Please follow the steps below.
1.
Double click the MedWare Chart Program icon.
2.
A dialog box will appear, prompting you for a user name and password.
3.
Enter “CC” (all capital letters) as the User Name and “ABC” (all capital letters) as the Password. Please note that the User Name and Password are
case-sensitive. Click OK.
4.
In the upper left corner, click on the File drop-down menu.
5.
Scroll down to Sign In Authorizations. A Master Password dialog box
should appear.
6.
Type “ABC” (using all capital letters; password is case-sensitive).
7.
An “Add Records” dialog box will appear, asking if you would like to add
Users. Click Yes to add Users.
8.
Click on the New button.

Type in your Name, Initials, and a Password (for demonstration purposes in
the screen shots below, we chose the Name “Student 1” and Initials “st1”).
Note that when you log in to MedWare Chart in the future, your User Name
will be the Initials you have created in this Step. Check the boxes next to
“Authorized to update Providers & Prescriptions” and “Authorized to Approve Charts.”

10. Click Save.
11. Repeat Steps 8 through 10 to add additional Users.
12. Click Close when fi nished creating users.
13. Click on the File Menu, and choose Exit.
Important: The next time (and every time) you log in to MedWare Chart, you
will use your Initials (as your User Name) and Password that were set in Steps 8
through 10. Do NOT log in with the Master Password.
