Pro-4 Truck Rules
1. COMPETING MODELS AND APPERANCE:
A. Any compact regular or extended cab pickup truck, e.g. Chevy S 10, Ford Ranger, GMC
S15 or Sonoma ,Nissan, Toyota, Dodge Dakota, Isuzu Hombre, Mazda etc. Foreign or
American two-wheel drive only. No four wheel drive or front wheel drive vehicles
allowed. No crew cabs, no SUVs (ie Explorer ,Blazer Jimmy Etc.)
B. All trucks are to be brightly painted with contrasting colors. Trucks must be maintained in a
neat appearing manner.
C. Truck numbers must be on both sides of the truck and on the roof. Numbers must be
twenty (20) inches tall with a three (3) inch stroke per number. A minimum of three (3)
inch numbers must be placed on the upper left corner of the windshield and the upper left
corner of the tailgate cover. All numbers are to be neat appearing, in strong contrasting
colors. No taped or spray painted numbers. Temporary numbers will be allowed to run for one
(1) race only. Infractions of this rule will be cause for loss of purse money, non-scoring, and loss
of points for that event.
D. Exception is for visiting driver's who will be allowed to compete with the approval of the
Tech Offical. All competing trucks will comply with a Safety Tech inspection.
2. CONDITIONS:
A. Any truck found to be illegal is subject to disqualification in that day's events (subject to theTech
Person's discretion). Any driver or crew member found in violation of these rules, or the general
rules, is subject to suspension, penalties, and/or loss of points and purse for that day's events.
B. Pro 4 Truck rules are subject to interpertation and/or modification by track offials in the
interest of competition and safety. Read your rules, understand them and build to the
rules not around them. Ignorance of the rules and their interpretation will not be accepted.
3. Conduct:
A. The driver is responsible for all Actions of his or her pit crew in all respects. The driver
shall be the sole spokes person for his/her car owner and pit crew in any and all matters,
and must talk with the head track official in charge regarding there conduct or behavior.
Any participant directly involved with any fighting or misconduct will receive a penalty
or fine or both. Also no participant shall subject any track official, employee, sponsor, or
participant to any abusive or improper language or actions. Also NO radios or other
forms of communicating to the driver during the race are allowed. This includes
hand gestures positive or negative.
4. CHASSIS:
A. Any OEM rear end may be used in any truck. No positraction ,torque-lock or other limited slip
rear end on any truck. Independent or Quick-Change rear ends are not allowed.
B. Stock OEM (to the chassis used) steering gear. No steering quickeners. Steering shaft
collapsable to protect driver. Stock OEM lower control arms will remain in stock
location. Stock OEM or tubular aftermarket (non adjustable type) upper control arms wil
remain in stock OEM location. No aftermarket drop spindles, stock OEM spindles and bal
joints only. Heim joints are not allowed on tie rod ends. No coil-overs, shock mounts to be stock
oem style to the chassis used and in the stock location. For the front end 5 or 5.5" diameter racinl
springs are allowed. Spring spacers allowed.
C. Any rear leaf springs may be used, aftermarket leaf springs are acceptable. Front mount on
rear springs to remain in stock location with springs parallel to the frame. Rear shackles only
(adjustable shackles acceptable), no spring sliders. Lowering blocks allowed, adjustable type on
one side only.
D. Front or rear weight jacks (ride height adjusters) are not allowed.
E. Cars must have stock factory brakes on all four wheels and in good working order. One
master cylinder. No restrictor. No in cockpit adjusters. No brake shut off on any wheel
allowed. No lightening of any brake component, rotors, drums. Rotors must be stock
diameter and thickness will be checked. Rear end must have brake shoes and all
components and be in proper working order. All 4 wheels must slide in brake test.
F. Minimum ground clearance ("ride height") is three inches with the driver.
G. All trucks must have accessible tow hooks, in the front and in the rear.
H. Minimum Weight after main event checker flag (NO GRACE WEIGHT): 2500lbs.

Weights and/or other factors may be adjusted on an individual basis to enhance
competition at the discretion of track management.
J. Wheel base minimum is 101" for regular cab, 1 l0"for extended cab.
K. All added weights MUST BE PAINTED WHITE with truck # on them.
L. Windshield area in front of driver must have screen or bars, recommend both and full
screen. Drivers side door window must have a working window net. Must open from the
top front and go down.
4. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
A. Any four cylinder in line single camshaft.2 valve per cylinder OEM Production truck or
automobile motor. No Iron Dukes (2.5 Tech 4 allowed) no Kansas Racing Products or
other using V8 heads. Engine does not have to stay in manufacturers line (any engine to
any truck). Engines are limited to twenty-six hundred (2600) cubic centimeters, no
marine parts, no rotary engines allowed. Stock stroke and rod length for the engine used,
overbore max .040.$600 claim on shortblock to include only the casting assembled with
the crankshaft, seals, rods bearings,pistons and rings..
B. Engine set back is not to exceed the number one spark plug in line with the upper ball
joints. Dual plug heads use the farthest rearward #1 plug.
C. Aluminum or lightweight flywheels and pressure plates are NOT allowed. OEM Pressure
plate and single disk clutch assemblies are to be used. Only Stock components allowed.
No multi-disk or ram style clutch assemblies. Minimum thickness of flywheel will be (1)
inch.
D. Cylinder head may be milled. Max-Compression ratio 11:0/1 as checked after feature at
track using Whistler tool. Porting and polishing, solid lifters allowed. OEM aluminum
heads allowed only on engines that came with them but raise weight by 251b must be lead
weight attached to RF frame rail ahead of the front suspension.. No Esslinger or other
aftermarket heads even though they may have factory casting numbers. Adjustable cam
gears allowed. NO ROLLER CAM ASSEMBLIES. Stock oem or exact oem
replacement valves only, no oversize valves.Intake valve diameter no larger than 1.75"
diameter in any case.Exhaust valves maximum 1.5" dia.. Aftermarket steel valve springs
,retainers, tappets, followers and/or lash adjusters allowed. Maximum valve lift at any
valve .525" with lash set as raced.$600 claim rule on the head includes only the casting
assembled with valves, seals, springs,keepers,retainers and lash adjusters if attached to
head(ie Ford OHC).
E. Carburetor(single carb only) stock oem 1 or 2 bbl only.The only aftermarket carburetor
allowed is the Holley 2300 series 2 bbl carb(7448 350cfm or 4412 500cfm maximum).
No Demon or other aftermarket carbs allowed.Choke mechanism can be removed. No
modifications to the airhorn. Air cleaners are mandatory. No cold air enclosures on the air
cleaner. A maximum two inch carburetor adapter plate can be added to the intake
manifold. No sidedrafts, blowers, injectors or turbos. Aftermarket intake allowed. Factory
fuel injection allowed but exact oem to the engine used. Absolutely no aftermarket
injection systems or components. 200.00 claim on carburetor.
F. Homemade or after market oil pans allowed.
G. Any stock oem truck or passenger car transmission with three, four or five speeds can be used.
Automatic transmissions must use a oem torque converter.No internal transmission modifications
of any kind,all forward gears and reverse must be functional.. No in/out boxes.
H. Mufflers are mandatory and must be securely mounted. Noise level must not exceed 95
db atlOO feet. OEM exhaust manifold ONLY, Exhaust must exit behind the driver
compartment. Exhaust system is not allowed to pass through the truck cab and is subject
to tech inspection and approval. 1.75"id max by 10" min length tailpipe on over 23 50c
I. All trucks must be self starting.
J. Any OEM auto/truck ignition parts allowed. Coil must be stock type.
5. RADIATOR AND DRIVELINE:
A. The radiator will remain in front of the engine. A catch can is mandatory on all vehicles
on the track.
B. Water pump and pulley must be O.E.M. to block.
C. Water only in the cooling system. No antifreeze allowed, anyone caught violating this
rule will be disqualified from that day's events and may also be fined.
D. Driveshafts are to be painted white. Drivelines must have a metal strap or aircraft cable
loop twelve (12) inches maximum behind the front universal joint. The strap or cable
must not exceed three (3) inches below the driveline.
6. FUEL CELL AND BATTERY:
A.
Approved racing fuel cells are recommended. All fuel cells must be mounted between
the rear frame rails and a minimum of twelve (12) inches from the rear bumper with a
minimum 1_" O.D. .095" protection hoop (submarine bar) with a single cross brace at
the rear of the fuel cell. (Cont.) Hoop to extend below fuel cell. Fuel lines passing
through the truck cab must run though a sealed pipe or conduit.
B.
Batteries must be securely mounted to the frame within the main rails using a suitable
steel bracket. No mounting the battery inside of the cab.
C.
Electric fuel pumps are optional and must have clearly marked power switch.
D.
ALL trucks running an electric fuel pump will have an oil pressure shut off switch.
7. WHEELS AND TIRES:
A. Safety approved racing wheels recommended on all four corners, seven (7) inch wide
maximum. No backwards mounting of wheels allowed. Wheels must be mounted
properly.
B. Any type steel wheel only, maximum 7" bead width. Larger stud bolts recommended and
safety lug nuts required. No bead locks or screws. Reasonable grooving and siping
allowed. Tires have to be P Rated DOT 13" or 14". No race tires, mud or bar grip style
snow tires. Legend tires are acceptable.
8. FUEL:
A. Pump gas or Racing fuel is allowed. No exotic fuels allowed such as alcohol, nitro-methane,
etc. fuel specs to match fuel at the track
9. FIREWALL AND FLOOR PAN:
A. Tailgate and boxsides may be fabricated, but must remain stock appearing. No open
tailgates or nets allowed. Truck box must be covered with fuel tank access. Stock
appearing racing nose allowed. No other fabricated major body panels forward of the
box. Skinning of the hood, fenders and /or doors is optional. Air scoops are not allowed.
Fabricated radiator support allowed.
B. Truck cabs will be mounted in stock location on frame, deviations from stock will not
exceed 1" in any direction. Cab needs to be in stock location from side to side. Cab
setback and height will be closely monitored. No altering roof, roof angle or height. The
standard is stock appearing. Distance from top of cab to top of the box must be within
1"of stock for the body used. Box top (tonneau panel) to be at 90 degrees to back of
cab,level to within 1" side to side (IE looks like stock).All top edges radiused no sharp
angles or sharp corners.Box width to within 1.5" of stock front to back. Boxes to be open
on the bottom and closed on top and back.
C. Any metal removed from floor and firewall to be replaced with sheet steel and fully
welded. Modifications must maintain integrity for strength and fire protection. Windshield
opening stock and unaltered All unnecessary holes and firewall holes filled.
D. Enclosing of cockpit is allowed.Must have a 12" inspection hole.
E. Rear spoiler is not to exceed six inches tall and no wider than the truck box. Maximum of
2 supports allowed to the front, maximum length 9 inches each. No active or movable
spoiler or other aerodynamic devices allowed anywhere.
F. Stock brake and or clutch pedals only and mounted in the stock location. No pedal
spacers. Accelerator with toe lift required.
10. ROLL CAGE:
A. Full roll cages are mandatory. Door bars must be installed (three on the drivers side and
two on the passenger side minium), minimum of one and three quarter (1.75") inches
O.D. tubing for the main cage, .095" wall thickness. The main cage will be standard roll
bar tubing. NO SQUARE, GALVANIZED, WATER, GAS, . . .ETC. TUBING
ALLOWED.
B. A minimum 3/16" steel protection panel to be installed on drivers' side from rocker panel
to top door bar and from front down bar to rear rollover bar
C. Right side of cage will not be left of the inside right frame rail.
D. Fuel cell hoop -SEE Rule 6
11. SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
A. 180° scatter shields are required on all trucks. Can be mounted under or on top of the
floor pan. Reinforced belt material is acceptable, but must be a minimum of three eighths
(3/8") inch thick. Entire transmission hump must be covered if belt material is used.
B. Scatter shield must run from the firewall to the rear of the transmission on all automatic
transmissions. Belt material must be bolted securely with a minimum of three eighths
(3/8") inch bolts with flat washers on both sides, a minimum of three bolts on each side
of the transmission hump.
C. All trucks must have filly charged fire extinguishers with readable gauges. Fire
extinguishers must be securely mounted with in reach of the driver (no duct tape or wire).
Fire Ext. must have current inspection tags. Mounting is subject to tech approval.
D. All drivers must wear an track approved firesuit and helmet. Firesuits and helmets will be
worn at all times while in the truck and on the race track. Full face helmet (Snell 2000
mm.) required, head sock, neck brace and fire rated gloves and shoes are highly
recommended.
E. Lap belts and shoulder harnesses are mandatory. Belts must be securely mounted to the
roll cage. Safety belts must be of approved material and design, three inch wide lap and
shoulder harness (five point harness is recommended). Harness up to 5 years old and in
good condition. There is a DATE TAG on the belts and it must be in good enough
condition to read or the belts are NO GOOD Period.
F. Track approved aluminum race seat with head rest required. No stock bucket seat
allowed.
G. Window nets are mandatory, mounting is optional and is subject to tech approval.
H. All trucks will have a main battery kill switch mounted in the back tin work with easy to
read ON/OFF instructions. An other kill switch will be inside of the cab within reach of
the driver while belted in.
I. Quick release steering wheels are strongly recommended, this is due to the tight and
confining conditions of the drivers compartment.
12. TECH:
A. All protests and claims must be submitted in writing to the Tech Director ten (10)
minutes after the class main event. If someone is found to be cheating they are subject to
fines, loss of points and suspension.
B. Loss of all moneys and points for the night and one week suspension. All illegal parts
will be confiscate by track. If all illegal parts are not given up driver will be finedX
amount of money determined by track or suspended or both. The Track Owner and or

KRA 4 cylinder hobby stock class rules
Any 4 cylinder rear-wheel drive pony car. The following are considered pony cars.
General Motors - Monza, Vega, Chevette, Astro, Skyhawk, Starfire, Sunbird and 3rd
Generation Camaro
Ford/Mercury - Bobcat, Capri, Mustang, Pinto.
AMC - Spirit.
Weight
The minimum weight of all cars with driver after race will be 2500 lb.
Body
Body must remain stock. May be trimmed for roll cage only. Dash may be removed.
Trunk floor may be altered for fuel cell installation only. Front and rear firewall required.
Remove all glass, combustibles and objects that do not pertain to main structure of race
car. No opening in hood allowed. All doors are to be welded shut. Tinning for interior
cock pit may be done. But must have inspection cover mm. size 12"x 12". After market
nose piece ok. 4" rear spoiler allowed. Motor must match body being used. Ford to Ford,
GM to GM. Must have front and rear stock bumpers or equivalent, can be reinforced.
Side rails allowed, must conform to body lines. NO SHARP EDGES ANY PLACE ON
CAR.
Safety Equipment
1) Approved fire suits are required when on the track. Must be in good condition and pass
safety inspection. Gloves and neck collar highly recommended.
2) Full face Helmets required. Snell SA 2000 or 2005 only.
3) Racing type seat belt and harness required 3" lap and 2"shoulder belts. Minimum of 4point safety belt system required. 5-point harness recommended. Harness up to 5 years
old and in good condition. There is a DATE TAG on the belts and it must be in good
enough condition to read or the belts are NO GOOD Period.
4) Roll Cages at least 6 point roll cage is required. Must be at least 1.5 inches outside
diameter and .090 wall thickness steel tubing. Bars must form a cage around driver and
reach as close to roof as possible. Top bar cage halo must be 2 inches above drivers head
with helmet on and run from door post to door post. Must have X brace behind driver and
at least 3 driver door bars or have steel plate on out side of drivers door and 2 door bars
on passenger side. Cage must be welded, Or bolted to floor in 6 places with 3/16" plate
6" x 6". Roll cage must pass safety inspection. All cage repairs after crash must pass
inspection before racing again.
5) Approved racing seat required.
6) Windshield area in front of driver must have screen or bars, Recommend both and full
screen. Drivers side door window must have a working window net. Must open from the
top front and go down.
7) ALL LEAD WEIGHT must be painted white and have car number clearly marked on
it. Must be securely attached with 2 or more V2 inch bolts. Maximum 150 Pounds.
8) Car numbers required on both sides of car on doors and on roof in contrasting colors at
least 18" inches high and 5" wide. Also 6" high numbers on the front and rear of car. The
number must be legible and the scorers must be able to read all numbers or you will not
be scored or paid.
Steering
Stock Steering in stock location. Quick release steering recommended. No steering
quickeners. No boxing in of steering column.
Wheels and Tires
Any type steel wheel only, maximum 6" bead width, Stock after market rims ok. Larger
stud bolts recommended and 1"safety lug nuts required. No bead locks or screws. 2"
maximum backspacing requirement, from inside bead to the mounting surface.
Reasonable grooving and siping allowed. Tires have to be P Rated DOT 13" or 14". No
race tires, mud or bar grip style snow tires.
Suspension
No aluminum parts. Suspension must remain stock. Upper strut mount may be altered to
adjust caster and camber. No inter changing of frame cross members. Any steel spring
that is stock appearing may be used but must fit in stock mounts and stock location. Stock
type shocks and must be in stock factory mounting holes. One shock per wheel. No coil
over shocks, weight jacks, tie rod ends or heim ends.
Sway Bar
Must be stock configuration but may have adjustable linkage on outer ends only. No
other weight transferring devices allowed.
Brakes
Cars must have stock factory brakes on all four wheels and in good working order. One
master cylinder. No restrictor. No in cockpit adjusters. No brake shut off on any wheel
allowed. No lightening of any brake component, rotors, drums. Rotors must be stock
diameter and thickness will be checked. Rear end must have brake shoes and all
components and be in proper working order. All 4 wheels must slide in brake test.
Battery
ONE 12 volt battery. Must be secured properly and held in the car with metal or in a
marine type container in such a way as to keep it from coming loose in a crash.
Radiator
One radiator only. Mounted in front of engine in stock location.
Ignition
Stock Distributors only. No aftermarket. No MSD. Coil must be stock type.
Drive Train
Any pony car transmission allowed. All gears must work. No lightening of any kind. Car
must have working clutch and all components must be stock and for engine used.
Automatics must run stock converter. No ram couplers. Flywheel must be STOCK in all
No aluminum flywheels, pressure plates, or drive shafts. No cutting or lightening
of flywheel PERIOD! Flywheel face may be resurfaced. Minimum thickness of flywheel
will be (1) inch. Al . 5 inch inspection hole shall be drilled in bell housing which must be
accessible for the tech inspector to see clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, etc. Must have a
scatter shield above bell housing that will deflect any clutch debris towards the ground.
Drive shaft must be steel only and painted white with car number clearly marked on it.
Must have safety hoop on front of drive shaft. Stock pony car rear end only. Locked rear
ends OK. No 9" ford, quick change or floater type rear ends, No aluminum rear end parts.
No torque sensor or traction devices allowed.
Engines
Stock configuration in stock location. Ford 2000, 2300. GM 140, 151. Chrysler 2.2.
1) Bore & Stroke & Rod length shall be ( see chart below). Cylinders may be bored to a
maximum of .060" over stock.

2) 4 Flat-Top valve relief or dish pistons only. Pistons must be three ring, full skirted
type, NO grinding or lightening. Floating wrist pins are allowed. Wrist pin height, Center
of wrist pin to top of piston ( see chart below).

3) Crankshaft and connecting rods must be stock and O.E.M. to block. No lightening,
grinding or polishing of any type. No marine parts. No roller rods. No strokers. Balancing
is allowed. O.E.M. stock steel rods only, No long rods. ARP Rod bolts & cap screws or
direct OEM replacement rods are allowed.
4) Camshaft may be hydraulic performance type. No solid lifters, roller cam, roller
follower, roller rockers. No dual camshaft.
5) No grinding, porting, polishing, acid treating of any kind is allowed on block, heads or
intake manifolds. Must be O.E.M.. This includes no painting or coating of any kind on
runners and no matching of gaskets. Heads may be milled on block mounting surface
only. No turbo heads or intake manifolds or dual spark plug heads.
6) Water pump and pulley must be O.E.M. to block. No aluminum water pumps or water
pump pulley on fords. No reverse cooling.
7) Valve diameter must be stock for engine. Valve seat cut, the lowest angle cannot
extend more then .250" from the beginning of the 45 degree (valve seat). Intake and
exhaust measurements must be.

8) No dry sump oiling, no external oiling pump. Homemade or after market pans
allowed. If you are using a block that does not have a fuel pump access on fords you must
have a 1" inspection hole on side of oil pan and be easily accessible to inspector. If not
you will remove pan for inspector.
Exhaust
Cast iron manifold only. No headers. Must be stock. No grinding, polishing or cutting of
any kind allowed. Must have an exhaust pipe that runs from the manifold to a point
behind a line equal to the back of the drivers seat under car. Maximum diameter of pipe is
1-7/8 inch O.D.. Maximum of 4" is allowed from exhaust manifold to pipe for transition.
Car cannot exceed 95 decibels at 100 feet.
Aspiration - Fuel
1) Approved fuel cell is required.
2) Single 5200 series pony car carburetor with stock E.G.R. plate O.E.M. to engine, if used, must
be bolted not welded to manifold. Choke plates may be removed. No milling or grinding of
choke tower, top of carburetor or intake manifold. Carburetor must be mounted with large bowl
towards engine. No Weber 38mm or 6500 series carburetor or parts allowed.
3) Maximum of 1 V2 inches from top of intake to bottom of carburetor. You must use
minimum thickness adapter to get carburetor mounted. Carburetor throttle plate and bore
must be stock. Primary throttle bore 32.00 mm. Secondary throttle bore 36.00 mm.
Primary venture diameter 22.00 mm, secondary venture diameter 27.00 mm for the
Holley / Weber carburetor. One fuel line only connected to carburetor. No blowers or
turbo chargers allowed. Electronic fuel pumps allowed, but they must be wired into the
oil pressure system to prevent them from pumping with out oil pressure.
4) Fuel must be pump gasoline only. NO alcohol, nitrous, nitro, methane, E85 or
nitrous devices allowed.

Silent Protest:
Only a driver competing in the feature can protest. Protestor must give race official
$150.00 cash before start of the feature and designate the car to be protested. The
Teardown includes both top and bottom end. A driver can only protest one engine per
race. No person shall prevent or interfere with the protest procedure. Only the TECH
inspector has the final word on the legality of the race cars involved in the protest. If
protested car is found legal, $50.00 goes to race track and $100.00 goes to protested car.
If found illegal, $50.00 goes to race track and $100.00 goes back to protestor.
Penalties
Loss of all moneys and points for the night and one week suspension. All illegal parts
will be confiscate by track. If all illegal parts are not given up driver will be fined X
amount of money determined by track or suspended or both.
The Track Owner and or Promoter shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from
any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that, in their opinions,
do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of
safety shall result from such alteration of these specifications. Any interpretation or
deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.
