Words from the Wa-Klo Winter Office
Hello, everyone! I
hope this third edition of the WaKlonian finds everyone in great spirits
and well rested following winter vacations, New Year’s,
and holidays!
The holiday season
saw the Wa-Klo staff
heading in all directions! Dr. Maurer
and Tammy sunbathed in Anguila,
Miss Chenet drove
down to Louisiana
and spent time with
friends and family
“down south”,
Donna spent time
with her grandkids
and family here in
the New York area,
and Karen enjoyed a
summer Christmas
in New Zealand with
family before making the trip back to
New York.
Well, the winter office is back to its
bustling self and we
are busy as ever!
Karen has been
searching high and
low for a fantastic
staff, and we are
well on our way to
having one of the
strongest group of
staff ever! We are
very excited about
the fine young la-
dies who will be
your 2010 counselors, coaches, instructors and
friends!!!

days away? WOW!!!

In the “area” where the
7th, 8th ,& 9th graders
live, there is a shower
house known to most
campers as “The Shower
House”. However, what is
unknown to them is that
this building actually has
a proper name. “The
Shower House” is “In and
Out”.
Speaking of names,
the outdoor gymnastic area has
two: “Round-Off”
and “The Slab”.
What will you call
it?
Built sometime prior to
1938, Sleepy Hollow is
the original building of
Camp Wa-Klo and remains the oldest building on camp. Housing
our youngest campers,
Sleepy Hollow is a
cozy place rich in history and tradition.

In this edition of the Wa-Klonian, instead of telling you about an awesome camp
activity or a spot around camp, we wanted to introduce you to some of the songs
you will be hearing and singing throughout your magnificent summer at Wa-Klo.
