NAKED NOODLES
MOOD
SETTING
The game takes place on a frozen lake in a futuristic setting.
The CYCLONS will battle on top of this lake. The sides of the lake will
mostly be defined by huge ice cliffs and rocks. Rocks may also stick
out of the water. Any vegetation will be either frozen or dead.
The lake itself will be cracked on several locations breaking it up into
ice, water and ice covered in snow. In the distance huge mountains
and forests can be seen.
Traces of intelligent life will be present in the environment. Some very
futuristic elements, like little outposts can be seen by the side of the
lake.
COLOR
Since the game takes place in a winter setting the colors of the game
will be mostly cold. White blue and grey will be a red thread. The white
snow may also be affected bythe color of the light. Different times of
day may give the game a different feeling.
The colors will overall be a bit desaturated. almost like a dark pastel.
CHARACTER
The vehicles of will be almost like jetskis that fly over the water. They
are supposed to be futuristic and fast, almost like Star Wars speeders, and have an armored streamlined panel look.
An actual character will barely be visible. If visible they will have normal proportions.
STYLE
We are going for a low poly art style with almost flat shading appart
from some slight variations for detailling. The rocks for example will
use normal maps to reduce poly size.
Building and vehicles will look very sci fi and will have a mostly rounded
look. The buildings will have antennas and dishes around them and will
look like military outposts.
There will be mist and weather effects in the game. Because of this
the background will me vague and way less detailed.
The environment is supposed to be look very big and majestic, with
huge mountains scaling in the distance.
LIGHTING
The lighting will be heavily dependent on the time of day. In an evening
setting a purple glow will be in the sky, during sunrise it will be an orange glow. During night an aurora may appear and the constellations
will be very bright. The scene will be gloomy, strengthening artificial
lights. The shadows will be hard.
HUD & UI
The HUD of the game will be integrated into the vehicles’ dashboard.
Since the game is 1st person and is all about knowing your environIt’s supposed to be very bright and emissive with a color in contrast to ment we will add rearview mirrors to give you more awareness of
the environment to make it stand out clearly. It will look futuristic but
your surroundings
not too distracting.
