On July 3rd from 9:00am-2:45pm and July 24th from noon-6:00pm. the American Red Cross is in efforts again to achieve their blood supply goal here at
Courtland Center. They have organized a new kickoff of "Give Before You
Go"

to give at least a pint of blood

Give a Penny for a Good Cause
The Courtland
The Penny Garden is a 'county wide outreach endeavor to collect $75,000 in
pennies' to help support Hunger Action Month (Sept.), as well as providing
food for the less fortunate in our community. All pennies collected will be
placed in a community garden structure, designed by Kenering University students, at the local Food Bank. The collection (which other organization and
businesses are also a part of) started on Earth Day (April 22) and runs through

For the entire month of August, Courtland Center will be donating All fountain coins to the Food Bank of Eastern MI for their annual "Community Penny
Garden."
In 2007, the Food Bank distributed
17.8 million pounds of food across 22 MI
Every year they have a goal to beat the previous year.
At the completion of the fully harvested Penny Garden, the Food Bank will be celebrating the Grand
Opening of the Thomas Landaal Food Recovery
Center. which will hold an additional 26 semi trailers
of food allowing over $1,050,000 worth of food to
