Jenna screamed. Her ear throbbed and hurt. Her mother told the DCFS

Every Penny Counts
You’ve most likely been asked at some point if you want to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to a nonprofit. If you said yes, you made a big difference. It
might seem like $0.18 is too measly to accomplish anything, but a donation of any size helps fulfill
an important mission.
The idea of donating change to charity has been around for ages, but the increase of electronic
purchases has made contributing even easier. If you’ve been hesitant to make a micro-donation in
the past, here are three reasons why it’s a great way to support nonprofits:
- It’s convenient. You don’t have to take the time to look up how you can donate to a charity, you
don’t have to drive anywhere and you don’t even have to take coins out of your wallet.
- It allows you to support a variety of nonprofits. As you come across different causes and organizations, you might just find one that you want to support on a regular basis.
- There are opportunities to donate to a charity of your choice.
If you are loyal to a particular organization, there are several programs and sites that will allow you
to choose where you’d like your change to go.
