SAW PALMETTO FRUIT LIPIDIC EXTRACT
Extract of Serenoa repens fruits
(NLT 80.0 % total fatty acids, NLT 23 % lauric acid,
NLT 0.20 % total sterols and NLT 0.10 % β sitosterol).
Saw palmetto and its unique berries were an important food source for Florida’s native Indian tribes. The
health-promoting uses were first studied in the late 19th century based on clinical observations.
The free fatty acids and phythosterols in Saw Palmetto berries act as phytoestrogens by inhibiting
5-alphareductase and possibly interfering with di-hydro-testosterone, binding the androgen receptors.
The extract is used to promote prostate health and urinary tract functions.
The main use is related to the treatment of disturbances due to Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH)
including reduction of urinary frequency, increase of urinary flow, and decrease of nocturia.

primarily Florida.
The extract is a lipophilic soft liquid obtained using
exclusively wild crafted berries.
The dried ripe fruits are exctracted with Ethanol 90 %
to obtain a dark greenish-brown oily liquid.
