Antelope Valley Construction Causes Traffic Changes in Lincoln
The road to State High School Championships goes
through Lincoln, and this year some of those roads will be
different. The City's Antelope Valley Project is under way,
and that means some street construction and changes in
traffic patterns near the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
After years of planning, construction is under way on
Lincoln's Antelope Valley Project - the largest public
works project in City history. Just west of Devaney, a new
waterway has been completed, which will lead to better
stormwater management. The project also includes traffic
improvements and community revitalization in the core of
the City.
Those coming to the Capital City for state tournaments
will see several changes:
1. Parking west of Devaney has been significantly
reduced by the construction.
2. North 16th and North 17th streets are switching from one-way to two way streets
near the UNL campus from about "Y" street to the south entrance to State Fair
Park. Signs will be posted to help drivers through the changes.
3. An alternative for those headed to Devaney is to enter and exit State Fair Park from
North 27th Street or State Fair Park Drive.
Safety is a priority for the City, and drivers are urged to allow extra time to get to the Devaney
Center. These changes are the first of many, and the improvements now underway are scheduled
to take six to ten years to complete.

lincoln.ne.gov. An Antelope Valley hotline has also been set up at 402-458-5999.
Again, the best advice to avoid traffic tie-ups near Devaney is to enter State Fair Park from North
27th Street or State Fair Park Drive. Please plan ahead and enjoy this years championship season
safely in your Capital City.
