THE WW2 ANIMAL TRAIL The clues on this sheet will help you find the animals (and a wizard) hidden in the WW2 Exhibition (Hall 2). Start at the doorway between Hall 1 and Hall 2 Remember not to run as the aircraft have sharp metal edges that you could hurt yourself on. CLUE NO. 1 (WW2, downstairs): This aeroplane is named after a seabird that flies long distances. Look for the picture of the bird on the aircraft badge. Like many other aircraft in this Museum the wings of this aircraft can be folded away for storage on board ship. CLUE NO. 2 (WW2, ): Find a fierce sea creature who might fight a duel with his long, sharp nose! This type of aeroplane is called a biplane because it has two wings. CLUE NO. 3: (WW2 upstairs) Find a little female bird called Jenny. She is hard at work helping the war effort. What type of bird is she? ___ ___ ___ ___ CLUE NO. 4 (WW2, downstairs): This mischievous moggy is a little devil of an aeroplane He has a long forked tail and red pointed ears! Look along the side of the aeroplane to find the window for a camera to take pictures of the world below. WW2 Trail July 2013 CLUE NO. 5 (WW2, downstairs, aeroplane): I am a hot little insect that lights up in the dark. Rearrange these letters to help you find my name: LFRIYFE CLUE NO. 6: (WW2, engine) My powerful engine makes me the fastest cat on the savannah. Does this engine look like the engine in your family’s car? Ask the adults with you to show you your car’s engine when you leave the Museum. CLUE NO. 7: Find an exhibition about the Royal Navy’s newest helicopter . It is named after King Arthur’s wizard and a bird of prey. CLUE NO. 8 (WW2, upstairs in ‘Brush with War’): Look for a large grey animal. Her name is written on her side. She is helping move aircraft on a jungle airstrip. Her name is: CLUE NO. 9: Find a long blue insect with thin whirling wings. It is flying above the entrance to Carrier. Can you see the winch and hook to rescue people in trouble at sea? You can check whether you have found the right answers by looking at the book on the information table next to the shop or from the Information Office in Hall 1.
