Contraindicated Stretches
It is best to completely avoid contraindicated positions or stretches. Although it is not guaranteed that
an injury will result, the risk for injury is increased. There are safe and effective alternatives to
contraindicated stretches. Even if you do not feel pain while performing a contraindicated stretch,
damage may be occurring.
Common contraindicated stretches

places excessive pressure on
the lower back.
