Drum
Materials:
● Container with a lid (coffee can,
empty yogurt or sour cream
container etc…)
● Tape, glue & scissors
● Decorations:
○ Fabric
○ Sticky back vinyl
○ Colorful plastic circles
○ Anything your little heart desires!
Try this:
Step 1‐ Tape or glue your lid on
Step 2‐ Cover with fabric or paper
Step 3‐ Decorate!
Step 4‐ Make mallet to play your drum with!
Use dowels and attach a wooden ball to the end!

Hand Held Drum
Materials:
- Wooden Dowl
- Two Soup lids
- Sticky Back Vinyl
- Two Leather Laces
- Two wooden beads
- Leather scraps
- Scissors and glue
Try This:
1) Use sticky back vinyl to connect the two bottom
rims of your soup lids (leave roughly 1 inch
untaped)
2) Insert a wooden dowel into the un-taped opening
between the soup lids, and secure with stickyback
3) Tie a knot at one end of each leather lace and place
your chosen bead above the knot
4) Use sticky back vinyl to secure the leather laces to
the rim of your drum, on opposite sides as pictured
here.
5) Decorate with leather scraps, and spin the dowel
between your hands to test your instrument!

materials!
