President’s Corner
Welcome,
As the newly elected PTA President, I would
like to welcome all of the new families to the
Jolliff community and welcome back to the
returning families. I look forward to getting to
know as many of you as possible. I am so
proud and honored to work with an amazing
group of parents this year on the PTA Executive Board. We hope you all enjoyed the fun
filled days of summer and are energized for a
wonderful brisk fall!
The PTA is an organization that is committed
to making a difference in education, health,
and safety of all our children. We partner with
our parents, teachers, staff, and community on
many levels to bring fun and educational programs, events, services, and opportunities to
our children to enrich their academic experience. With your support, we can continue to
make Jolliff academically challenging and
nurturing for our children. Your contribution,
whether it is your time, knowledge, or resources, makes a difference. We personally
invite you to become an involved member of
Jolliff PTA. The PTA continues to focus on
improved communications with our commu-
nity. Please join our Jolliff PTA Facebook page,
where you will receive frequent updates on
events and happenings with the PTA. Look for
other methods of communication including the
newsletter, and e-blasts throughout the year.
We are looking forward to an amazing year and
hope to get many more of you involved with the
PTA and assisting with our mission to enrich
and enhance the social and educational opportunities for the children of Jolliff Middle School. If
you have any questions or would like to share
some of your ideas and thoughts , please feel
free to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Lynn Dula,
Jolliff Middle School PTA President, 2016-17

From the Attendance Office
Absences:
In the event that your child is absent from school, you should send a note in with the student on the first day he/she returns. The note should include your child’s first AND last
names, the date(s) of absence, and the reason for the absence, your signature & phone
number. Absences of more than three days require a doctor’s note to be excused. School
Messenger will call the home of all students who are absent each day. (This could include
students who report to school late, however, their records will be corrected the next day to
show a tardy.) Phone calls will no longer be accepted to excuse absences.
Tardiness: If your child reports to school after 8:50 a.m. he/she is considered tardy. The
student should report to the office to sign in and get a pass to class. Lateness due to a
medical appointment or illness will be excused with a note from the doctor or a parent.
