We hope you all enjoyed the fun filled days of summer and are energized for a wonderful brisk fall! The PTA is an organization that is committed to making a difference in education, health, and safety of all our children. We partner with our parents, teachers, staff, and community on many levels to bring fun and educational programs, events, services, and opportunities to our children to enrich their academic experience. With your support, we can continue to make Jolliff academically challenging and nurturing for our children. Your contribution, whether it is your time, knowledge, or resources, makes a difference. We personally invite you to become an involved member of Jolliff PTA. The PTA continues to focus on improved communications with our commu- nity. Please join our Jolliff PTA Facebook page, where you will receive frequent updates on events and happenings with the PTA. Look for other methods of communication including the newsletter, and e-blasts throughout the year. The note should include your child’s first AND last names, the date(s) of absence, and the reason for the absence, your signature & phone number. Absences of more than three days require a doctor’s note to be excused. School Messenger will call the home of all students who are absent each day. (This could include students who report to school late, however, their records will be corrected the next day to show a tardy.) Phone calls will no longer be accepted to excuse absences. Tardiness: If your child reports to school after 8:50 a.m. he/she is considered tardy. The student should report to the office to sign in and get a pass to class. Lateness due to a medical appointment or illness will be excused with a note from the doctor or a parent. 3 October 2016 PAGE 4 October 2016 PAGE 2016-2017 PTA Membership Card discounts (check out or website at http://www.cpschools.com/Schools/JMS/ PTA.html for updates): SHOW YOUR PTA MEMBERSHIP CARD FOR DISCOUNTS Restaurants: Subway 5903 High St West – Buy One, Get One Free 6 inch with purchase of drink Cold Stone Creamery - 2 Love It Creations for $6 LaTolteca - 10% discount Tropical Smoothie Café, Chesapeake Square & Harborview- 10% discount Spaghetti Eddies in Western Branch- 10% discount (not including alcohol) Sweet Frog - 10% discount Buffalo Wild Wings—10% off any non-alcoholic purchase Jersey Mikes (WB) - Free chips and drink with sub purchase Products and Services: UPS Store (Chesapeake Square)- B&W copies $.06 Color $.30// 15% off Printing/Faxing/Shredding Shotz Portrait Studio, Inc (7386 Harbour Towne Pkwy #5, Suffolk Harborview) - 10% off regular priced items.
