01. INTRODUCTION
The Wireless Keypad enables you to fully control (arm, disarm, partial arm,
acknowledge alarms, etc.) on your Active SmartHome Gateway from a remote
location in your home, for example, your entrance door. Using a wireless keypad
provides additional security, as your housekeeper or your babysitter can arm or
disarm the system without having access to your interface.

2.2. Walk Test
Chose an appropriate location for the Wireless Keypad within the range of the
Active SmartHome Gateway. To test if the signal is within range, go to the
Settings menu in the Security application and enter Walk Test. Press the
button once on the Wireless Keypad and check that it has been recognized by the
Active SmartHome Gateway, and so displayed on the platform (Fig. 04). The
module operates smoothly and easily, and provides reliable protection if it has
been successfully tested in a suitable location.

2.3. Location
You can attach the rear panel to the wall near the entry door and/or the garage
door, using the adhesive or screws provided, so that every person at your home
knows its location and so can arm or disarm the system when entering and
leaving. Do not install the keypad near large metal objects which could obstruct
radio communication. The device should be mounted vertically.
2.4. Mounting the Keypad
To mount the Wireless Keypad:
- Remove the front cover.
- Using the 2 mounting holes on the back cover as a template, mark the
positions in the most suitable location.
- Insert wall plugs if fixing into a plaster or brick surface.
- Screw the Remote Keypad onto the wall plugs.
- Replace the front cover.
2.5. Setting the Keypad PIN Code
The Keypad uses the same PIN Code as the PIN pad on the platform. It is also
possible to set a Duress PIN. The Duress PIN will be used if you are forced to
disarm your Security Panel. It is used to warn others that you are being forced to
do something against your will.

without accidentally triggering alarms on the Security Panel. Sometimes you
may need to replace the keypad’s battery or relocate the keypad. The

- After 5 seconds without any keys being pressed, the power goes off and it
returns to stand-by mode.
- When a command has been completed, the power turns off and the Wireless
Keypad returns to stand-by mode.

04. MAINTENANCE
4.1. Fault Conditions
When the Wireless Keypad is in Normal Operation Mode:
- You CANNOT activate Partial Alarm Mode by using the Remote Keypad, if the
Control Panel is in Alarm Mode.
- If you enter an incorrect PIN Code 4 times, the key function will be disabled for
1 minute, indicated by an LED going on/off 3 times and 6 beeps. After 1
minute, the keypad will emit a long beep to indicate that the key function has
returned to normal.
4.2. Battery and Low Battery Notification
- Your Keypad uses one 1/2AA 3 V Lithium battery as a power source.
- Your Keypad can also detect low battery status. If the battery voltage is low,
the Activation LED will flash (Blue in Maintenance Mode or Orange in Normal
mode) during operation. The low battery signal will be sent along with regular
signal transmissions to the Control Panel for displaying the status accordingly.
- The battery is pre-installed at the factory before shipping.

4.3. Tamper Protection
- The Keypad is protected against any attempt to open the cover or to detach
the Keypad from its mounting surface.
- If someone touches the Wireless Keypad you will receive a notification.
- Tamper protection is disabled when the Keypad is in Maintenance Mode.
4.4. Reset to factory default
- If you have forgotten the PIN Code or if there is a fault with the Remote
Keypad, you can reset the Remote Keypad to factory default and reinitialize it.
Reset to factory default:
Step 1: Remove the batteries and release the tamper protection.
Step 2: Press and hold key 3 whilst inserting the battery back.
Step 3: Continue pressing key 3 until you hear three short beeps to
indicate the reset has been successful.
Step 4: Release key 3, the reset process is complete.
After reset, the PIN Code reverts to the factory default, 0000. The Remote
Keypad will require the learning procedure to be repeated before it can
start to function.
