technology with emphasis on tapping the alternative energy sources for Power Generation which took a big load off
our existing reserves used for Generation.

5th POWER Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo to familiarize
themselves with the Power & Energy sector of Sri Lanka and see
the Investment climate where the Government is encouraging
Foreign Investments in the Power & Energy sector.

special emphasis on Renewable Energy, PV Power with its
concurrent exhibitions, for encouraging investment in this sector
to generate electricity from renewable sources to meet an evergrowing demand and lessen the dependency on existing
resources.
The Expo brought world-class technology which was beneficial to
upgrade the Power & Energy sector and also played an important
role by assembling the entire business community of Sri Lanka
from all the industry sectors of our country under one roof thus
creating a one-of-a-kind networking opportunity ever seen in the
country and to appraise them of the latest developments and
technology available in the sector.

A Special `Business Networking Dinner’ was held on 17 June,
2011 which saw attendance from important personalities in the
business circles, Industrialists, Exhibitors of 5th Power Sri Lanka
2011, Important Stakeholders of the Power & Energy sector of Sri
Lanka and Government Officials. Presentation and Speech was
given by participated organizations.

An Official Opening Ceremony was held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition &
Convention Centre in Colombo. The Chief Guest of the Ceremony was
Hon. Mr. Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister for Power & Energy –
Govt. of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Hon. Mr.
Ranawaka also later inaugurated the Exhibition. Also present at the
Opening Ceremony as Special guests were Mr. Tissa M. Herath,
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Power & Energy; Mr. S. Ganesan,
