If every teacher meets their goal, FHC will administer 925 AP exams in the spring of 2017. This would represent 84% of the exams that FHC could possibly administer. Additionally, if teachers’ goals come to fruition, then 84% of FHC’s exams will earn scores of 3+ Dr. Arnel has upheld the AP & Honors drop process FHC is running 3 sections of 10th grade AP European History with 79 sophomores. 19 of those students participated in a week-long AP Bootcamp in July FHC’s ESC met with the AP Bootcamp students in July. FHC has run 5 sessions of High Achievers’ Growth Mindset, which is run by the ESC Qtr. 2: FHC is recruiting 558 of a possible 961 (58.1%) current 10th and 11th graders to take AP classes in the 2017-2018 school year. 258 (46.2%) of the recruited students have not previously taken an AP class. FHC is also identifying current 9th graders to recruit for AP classes. FHC is recruiting 152 current 9th graders to take an AP class, bringing the total recruited students to 710, an increase of 15%. 32.6% of African American 9th, 10th and 11th graders have been recruited for AP classes. Currently 20% of FHC African American 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students are enrolled in AP classes. 30.9% of Free- and Reduced-Lunch 9th, 10th, and 11th graders have been recruited for AP classes. Current. 19.0% of FHC FRL 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students are enrolled in AP classes. FHC has surveyed 266 current AP students. 89% report that they feel as though they were properly placed in AP. 84% report that they are satisfied with their AP courses. 93% report significant levels of stress related to their AP classes. The number of students enrolled increased by 1.2%. 20.6% of FHC’s African American students enrolled in AP classes for 2017-2018 compared to 17.7% for the 2016-2017 school year.
