1) Define the word, write a sentence including the word in context, and provide a synonym
and an antonym. Follow the example below:
Definition: Austere - stern and cold in appearance or manner
Sentence: Mr. Smith’s teaching methods seem austere, but only on the surface. Instead of
having harsh and strict penalties, he allows students to make up late homework.
Synonym: serious, severe, harsh
Antonym: gentle, plain, simple
2) Don’t forget to highlight the definition of the word in the context of the sentence, as
shown above.
