Holidays are Upon Us!
DECEMBER CALENDAR EVENTS
Student Holidays
December 19-January 3
With the winter holidays approaching, students are busy
preparing plants for our spring Plant Sale. Once or twice a week
during Social Skills we have an arts and crafts activity that may also
produce products for our annual sale. Transition students are
currently painting birdhouses and other wooden creations to
donate to a nearby charity.
Social Skills
Transition students are
working on social skills throughout
the day here at school, and we are
currently preparing a Community
Based Instruction to the Magik
Theatre on Tuesday, December
13th. We continue to encourage
students and families to practice
and promote healthy relationships
and conflict resolution.
Academics
In Language Arts and Reading students have completed
their fiction unit and will move on to analyzing poetry. Social
Studies classes learned about the Electoral College and how it
applied to this year’s presidential election. Math classes are
studying how algebraic applications can be used in everyday
life and using math to create art. In Science, students have
completed studying ecosystems and will start on cells and cell
division.
