TAKE ONE PROJECTS Every year we will run at least one ‘Take One’ project. For the academic year 2016-17 we will be running a Take One project at both the Museum of Somerset and the Somerset Rural Life Museum. ‘Take One’ was started by the National Gallery and enables students to explore one museum object in depth, resulting in many different types of work from different disciplines. The project has the potential to be predominantly student led but is also highly flexible, enabling teachers to adapt it to their style and practice. All our Take One projects include a training day and an exhibition event at the museum site(s). These events take place at a weekend and enable children to share their work with both parents/carers and members of the public. Additional loan packs and resources are 5 available for Take One projects, and email updates will be sent out as projects are planned and publicised. To find out about the training day or resources for our Take One projects please contact Lizzie Mee on [email protected]. The Somerset Heritage Centre in Taunton provides opportunities for teachers to access research facilities and visit the Museum Loans for Learning store.
