Kids R Kids Eagle Springs and Kings River October News 2016! We cannot help but be happy when October finally arrives in Texas! We made it through the heat of summer and are thrilled for the cooler weather to come our way! After all, what’s better than putting on a warm sweater and snuggling up to a cozy fire with your kiddos? It’s time to make the hot chocolate, decide on the Halloween costumes and create the Thanksgiving menu! We absolutely love this time of the year. What better job to have than one where you can spend time celebrating all these holidays? A huge “thank you” to the PAL members at each campus for attending the meeting in September. PAL (Parent Advisory League) meets once every quarter to discuss a variety of school-related topics and allows parents to assist in planning future events and offer ideas. If you would like to take part in the next PAL meeting, please let us know! Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who posted such raving reviews about our schools over the last few months on social media websites. Congratulations to the Jackson family at Eagle Springs and the Burns family at Kings River who were drawn to receive three free months of tuition! What a wonderful and welcome gift for these families! As always, thank you for choosing Kids R Kids to educate and love your children! We have planned to have a DJ, bounce house, face painting, a fire truck, games, food and more! The children love seeing each other in a fun, outdoor atmosphere while parents get to know each other a little bit more. We will have our walk around the school on Wednesday, October 12th at 10:30 am. In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, in 1985, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.National Family Partnership provides drug awareness by sponsoring the annual National Red Ribbon Campaign™. Eagle Springs Classroom of the Month for October! Kings River Classroom of the Month for October! When the Eagle Springs Directors were asked which room to choose for “Classroom of the Month” for October they all agreed Suite 400! This is such a great room with teachers that truly love and care for their children. A huge thank you to Ms. Christina and Ms. Brooke for creating such an appropriate learning environment for all children in the classroom and for always communicating with parents in the most professional way. You ladies put the “team” in teamwork! It was a unanimous vote at Kings River to award “Classroom of the Month” to Suite 500! Ms. Lori and Ms. Darryel do a fantastic job teaching our children and getting them ready for kindergarten. We are very proud to be part of the Texas School Ready program. And Ms. Lori has absolutely excelled teaching their curriculum and motivating the children to take the challenges of the activities proposed by the TSR program. Way to go, Suite 500, for winning this prestigious award for October! Page 3 Kids R Kids Eagle Springs & Kings River Promotion for Ms. Tricia Barr! We are very pleased to announce that Ms. Tricia Barr has been promoted from an Educational Consultant II position to the Director of Educational Consultants and Training! Ms. Tricia started with Kids R Kids when The Huffs opened their first school in 2005. She has over 25 years of Early Childhood experience and education under her belt. Throughout her career with Kids R Kids she has worked as a PreK teacher, Curriculum Director, and Educational Consultant I & II. Tricia is also on the Texas Trainer Registry, which enables her to teach the CDA class to our teachers who wish to receive additional education and a certification in the Early Childhood field, or to mentor Ms. Crystal James who has been teaching CDA for our teachers here in Humble. KRK owners Paul and Tammy Huff have always believed in our teachers receiving additional training and will pay 75% for those who decide to enroll in this course. Teachers graduate the course with a much better understanding and knowledge of child development. Ms. Tricia is also in charge of the “Master Teacher” class that we will start offering to our Staff Teachers and Master Teachers that wish to move further on the KRK career ladder. Ms. Tricia has been traveling to our Humble schools every month since January to offer her years of experience and knowledge to our staff here. Congratulations, Ms. Tricia, on a very well deserved promotion! Pre-K Pumpkin Patch Field Trip! The annual Pre-K and Private Kindergarten field trip to the Pumpkin Patch to the Good Sheppard Episcopal Church in Kingwood has been scheduled! Our children will enjoy a walk through their trail as they pick their very own pumpkin to take home! This is something the children look forward to every year and talk about for weeks after! As a reminder, all children must have a current transportation form and a field trip form signed by a parent or guardian. For parents that wish to tag along, you are more than welcome, but will have to take your own car. This trip is scheduled for October 13th for Pre-K and October 20th for Private Kindergarten. This will be a great fall activity and we hope that children and parents enjoy as they usually do. More news…...
