Intellectual Integrity Policy: Intellectual integrity on the part of all students is basic to
individual growth and development through college course work. When academic dishonesty
occurs, the teaching/learning climate is seriously undermined and student growth and
development are impeded. For these reasons, any form of intellectual dishonesty is a serious
concern and is therefore prohibited. The full intellectual integrity policy can be found at:

¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to my Spanish class, where cell phones are PROHIBITED.
Attendance:
Attendance will be taken every session and class participation will figure prominently into your
final grade. Should you find it necessary to miss a class, it is your responsibility to find out
what was taught and/or assigned for that particular class.
Do not send an e-mail asking for the assignments. You are allowed a total of two class hours of
absence without penalty for the entire semester. More than two absences will lower your final
grade in this course. Lateness is disruptive to me and other students who have managed to
arrive on time. Do not assume that I will mark you present if you are late. You will need to see
me after class to make sure that I have not marked you absent.
Emergency Absences: Illness/family emergencies: again, if you are absent FOR MORE
THAN 3 DAYS from campus because of an emergency/health issues that can be documented,
contact Student Advisement Office (315-312-2240) BEFORE/WHILE you are away (they will
not work with you AFTER the absence). They will send all your professors an official letter
stating that you will be absent for a valid reason – so there is no need to have to spill your guts to
each professor.

Various assignments will be given during the course of each chapter and will reflect your ability
