5:17). These weekly
notes will list
different prayer
items that I hope
you will remember
as you spend time
in prayer each day.
There are always
more prayer items
than listed, but we
ask that you give
special attention to
these! Please pray
for our school year.
Pleases keep the
annual Fundraiser
Dinner in prayer
and the leadership
and teachers of the
school. Please pray
for those planning
the eighth grade
trip to Washington
D.C. this year.

Weekly Notes from NKCS
Fundraiser Dinner
The annual fundraiser dinner is Saturday,
November 14, 2015 at the North Kern Christian
School. Festivities begin at 5:30 pm. If you did
not get an invitation or know someone who
would like to attend please let the school office
know. You will have a chance to donate to some
special projects and also the scholarship
program
Please join us for a great time in honoring Mr. Funk who has taught at North Kern for
over 30 years. This is a great way to help the
school out.
Fog Delays
NKCS will not be announced if
there is a fog delay. We will delay ONLY if
Wasco High School, Wasco Elementary, and
or Richland School District are delayed. We
do not delay if Shafter High or General
Shafter delay. On fog delay days classes
begin and 10:20 and school (including
kindergarten) is dismissed at 3:00. If there Is
a cancelation for Wasco Elementary, Wasco
High and/ or Richland School District,
NKCS will be closed for the day. Please listen to the radio or watch the morning news
during fog season. Also, you may look up
the Kern Superintendent’s website at
http;//alertline.kern,org.
The preschool will operate on a regular
schedule.

Jelly Belly Fundraiser
Packets went home Monday with
information about the Jelly Belly Fundraiser. Last
year the kids did an amazing job selling. Just a
reminder, all money and orders have to be turned
in no later than November, 30. If you have questions please call Kiley Carrillo at 661-330-1997.
Box Tops
NKCS is still collecting the Box Tops for
Education. You can find these on items like some
cereal, frozen foods, baking, snacks and dairy
products. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents to the
school. Every classroom has a collection box and
please trim them up nicely and write your name
on the back because Mrs. Rodarte will be
drawing a winning class and an individual winner
at the end of the month. With the holiday’s
coming, this is a great time to get family
collecting for you!!! Happy collecting!
Bike a Thon
Congratulations to all of those who earned free
dress days and icecream for laps and money money
turned in. Top Laps were;

$1,850.00 and also won Bentley the Robot dog.
Top Laps was Anthony Cardamone with 60 laps.
While the students didn’t raise enough for Mr. Funk to
wear the tutu, they did raise enough for him to wear the
wig which he wore on Tuesday.
