My Heart Rate
My resting heart rate: 15-second heart rate
X4=
__________ beats per minute.
My heart rate after physical activity: 15-second heart rate
X4
=________ beats per minute.
My maximum heart rate:
beats per minute.
To find you maximum heart rate (MHR), start with 220 and subtract
your age. Example, for 16-year-old teen: 220 - 16 = 204 MHR.
To gain the greatest benefit for your cardiovascular system (heart and
blood vessels), set a goal to exercise at the heart rate between 70%
and 85% of your maximum heart rate MHR). That’s your target rate
zone.
My target heart rate zone:
to
beats per minute.
To find your target heart rate (THR) zone, multiply MHR by 70% to
85% of MHR.
Formula for low end of target heart rate zone: MHR X 0.7 = THR
Example, for 16-year-old teen: 204 X 0.7 = 143 beats per minute
(rounded).
Formula for high end of target heart rate zone: MHR X 0.85 = THR
