How to find your clubs course and slope ratings

How to find your clubs course and slope ratings
The best way to find out the course and slope rating at your club is to use the Course Rating
Database found at USGA.org.
Click here to go there now http://ncrdb.usga.org/NCRDB/
1. First enter your club name, city and state then click the submit button.
2. Choose your club by clicking on it.
3. A detailed table will show the course and slope rating for each tee box, front and back
9’s. It also shows the difference in the course rating for Male and Female golfers from
each set of rated tees. In this example the course rating on the front nine of Poston
Butte GC for boys playing from the white tee box is 34.8 with a slope of 119 and the
course rating on the front nine for girls playing from the red tee box is 36.7 with a slope
of 126.
4. Use these numbers to calculate the individual and team state qualifying number.
Examples using Male, White Tees on Front 9 and the Division III Boys qualifying numbers.
Because the course slope is 119 we will use the formula for courses with a Standard
Rating (see the Qualifying Numbers on the following pages).
The course rating 34.8 rounds to 35.
Individual: 35 + 6= 41
Team: 35 x 4 + 28 = 168
If an individual shoots 41 or lower they have shot a qualifying score. If the team shoots
168 or lower they have shot a team qualifying score. Be sure to enter all qualifying scores
using the forms found under the coaches tab at aiaonline.org
Division III
** Courses with Standard Ratings **
Individuals (Boys)– Course Rating + 6 shots
Individuals (Girls)– Course Rating + 7 shots
Team - Course Rating x 4 + 28 shots
Coed teams need to use the boys course rating x the number of boys and
then the girls course rating x the number of girls (total of 4 players) and add
28 to equal the qualifying score.
