Cardinals’ Chirps…
 Last game… RHP Andrew Morales tossed a career-high 8.0 innings, at one point retiring 17 straight outs, to help guide the
Cardinals to the 7-4 win against Tulsa on Monday. The Drillers plated all four of their runs in the top of the first, before Morales dug
in. He started his consecutive outs streak with the final two in the first and retired everyone in order through the end of the sixth.
Meanwhile, Springfield swung onto the board with a solo blast by LF Anthony Garcia in the first, before a three-run rally with an
RBI fielder’s choice from 2B Breyvic Valera and a two-run single by CF Nick Martini to tie it in the fourth. Valera and Martini
struck again in the eighth with RBI singles, propelling Springfield to the eventual 7-4 victory.
 Martini on the mark… CF Nick Martini helped pace the Cardinals attack on Monday, putting in a three-hit, three-RBI performance.
The Crystal Lake, Illinois native is currently on a five-game hitting streak, during which he has gone 7x20 (.350). With a .364
average (16x44) through 12 games in May, Martini has increased his season average to .312 through 28 total games this year.
 Welcome back, Wisdom… 3B Patrick Wisdom rejoined Springfield on Monday from a brief stint on the Short-A State College
roster, and got right back into the swing of things with a sharp single to center field and a pair of walks. The Murrieta, California
native has hit safely in each of his last five games with Springfield, going 8x17 (.471) during that stretch. Going back to 4/21,
Wisdom has notched at least one hit in nine of his 11 Double-A games, going 13x34 (.382) with seven RBIs during that period.
 Drilling Tulsa… LF Anthony Garcia continued to have success against the Drillers with a solo blast on Monday. Through five
games against Tulsa, the Carolina, Puerto Rico native is hitting .313 (5x16) with two homers, one double and six RBIs.
 What a weekend for Washington… 1B/OF David Washington continued a very good first half of May with a great series against
the Naturals, hitting safely in each of the three games that he played, going 6x14 with two RBIs. He has hit safely in eight of his last
10 games, while going 10x30 (.333) with two home runs and seven RBIs in his last seven games.
