XXIII ILLES BALEARS CLÀSSICS REGATTA
PRE NOTICE OF RACE
(This document can be completed and amended by the NOTICE OF RACE, pending publication)
1. LOCATION
Club de Mar-Mallorca and Bay of Palma (Majorca).
2. DATES
August 16th to 19th 2017, both included.
3. ORGANIZATION
Club de Mar- Mallorca and Real Federación Española de Vela (RFEV).
The regatta is included in the Classic and Vintage Yachts Spanish Championship and in the VIII
Classic Mare Nostrum Trophy.
4. RULES
4.1. The Word Sailing (WS) 2017- 2020 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
4.2. The Comité International de la Méditerranée (CIM) Rules and the prescriptions of the Real
Asociación Nacional de Crucero (RANC).
4.3. Specific rules of participating classes.
5. . PARTICIPATING CLASSES
5.1. Vintage yachts, launched before 31st December 1949.
5.2. Classic yachts, launched between 1st January 1950 and 31st December 1975.
5.3. Spirit of Tradition yachts, thus defined by the CIM and the RANC.
5.4. RI Classics (not scoring for the Spanish Championship). Boats with RI certificate, more than 25
years old, complying the conditions established by the RANC.
5.5. Big Boats Class yachts (over 23,00 m. LOA).
5.6. International Class FI 15
5.7. Dragón Class (vessels launched before 1991.
5.8. Lateen- sail (“bots” and “llauds”).
5.9. “Presence” Class: Vintage and Classic Boats older than 50 years who wish to be present during
the regatta without racing.

The Notice of Race will indicate another documentation to be deliver to confirm the entry.
6.4. Time/ date entry deadline
1st August 2017, at 1800.
6.5. Entry fees
a) General entry fee, 175,00 Euro for all participants.

b) Participants from the 2016 regatta: 135,00 Euro.
c) Local boats: 75,00 Euro.
d) Dragon Class: 50,00 Euro.
e) Latin Sail Class: Exempt.
f) Boats usually moored at Club de Mar: Exempt.
g) Entries made before 1st April 2017: 25% discount.
h) Entries accepted after 1st August 2017: 25% surgcharge.

6.6. Entry admisions
The number of admitted entries will be subject to Club´s mooring, availability, considering the
entry order and the age and othjer characteristic of the boats.

7.2. The Notice of Race will detail the social and cultural events.
8. CLASSIFICATIONS
8.1. There will be a classifications for each participating class.
9. TROPHIES
The following trophies will be delivered:
a) Winners in every participant class.
b) Club de Mar special Trophy for overall winner of the regatta.
c) “Pedro Cardona” Trophy, to the overall winner of Lateen Sail.
d) “Legends of the Sea” Trophy for the vessel that, according to an expert committee, best represents the spirit of Classic Sail.
10. MOORINGS
10.1. Moorings in Club de Mar - Mallorca will be provided free of charge, from August 12th to 20th,
both included.
10.2. Moorings will be assigned according the criteria described in point 6.6. of this Pre- Notice.
