NES NEWS YOU CAN USE:

PBIS Digital Rewards update:
o Students will be receiving PBIS ID Badges on Thursday, Feb. 9 th after
the Cardinal Pride Assembly.
o Log-in information for students and parents will be sent home on
Thursday afternoon.
o Most teachers will be asking students to leave badges at school each
day. If your child brings his/her badge home, we ask that you please
assist in making sure the badge is returned to school each day.
o If ID badges are lost, there will not be a replacement available, but
there are options to print student IDs on a label.
o Motivating students is crucial to the success of any incentive program,
and knowing this, we created two ways students can stay connected.

PBIS Student Portal
o Students can track their progress by using the Student Portal or the
PBIS Rewards Student App (available in Google Play, the iOS App
Store, and the Amazon App Store).
o The Student Portal is a simple web interface students can use when
they have access to a computer.
o
o
The PBIS Rewards Student App allows them to use a smartphone to
scan their ID badge and displays the same information available in the
Student Portal.
With the app and web portal, students can see:
 Student point totals
 School store items and privileges they can earn and work
towards earning
 List of school events

PBIS Parent Portal
o Because parents are an extremely important part of the success
formula for a student, the PBIS Rewards Parent App allows parents to
instantly see how their children are doing within the PBIS Rewards
program. With this PBIS app, parents can see:
 Point earnings
 Discipline Referrals
 Items purchased, privileges purchased, and events registered
o We think that each feature on the Parent App is helpful in keeping
parents involved in their child’s school lives. By seeing how students
are doing with respect to points earned each day, parents can offer
encouragement and praise.
o Additionally, parents may spot a concern if they see that their child is
earning fewer and fewer points each day. Instantly knowing if your
child receives an office referral is useful for obvious reasons, and we
think helping parents keep an eye on items purchased is also
beneficial.
o With the hustle and bustle of modern times, keeping track of your
student’s progress in school at the touch of a button is a must!

After School Strings and Band Opportunity for NES students!
Ms. Easley and Mr. Madole, the middle school band and orchestra teachers at Mill
Creek Middle, would like to provide the opportunity for Nolensville Elementary
students to take an after-school Band or Strings club/class offered through SACC
that will meet 2 days per week. These classes will be offered at Mill Creek
Middle. If your child is enrolled at a school besides Mill Creek, then you would
need to provide them with transportation to Mill Creek Elementary in order to
participate. You will be contacted with more information in early January if you
fill out the interest survey below. We would like to start these new classes at the
beginning of February. Grades 4-5 will be offered for Band. Grades 1-5 will be
offered for Strings. Current involvement in SACC is not necessary. There is a
one-time registration fee for SACC and tuition fees to pay for the classes which
will be determined as we find out how many students and classes will be offered.
•BAND: Students who sign up for ‘Introduction to Band’ have the opportunity to
learn the basics of what how to play an instrument! Students will be placed on
either a brass or woodwind instrument based on facial structure and their interests.
For this course, the instrument options are trumpet or clarinet. Instruments can be
rented from local vendors starting at $24/month. These classes will be taught by
Ms. Easley.
•STRINGS: Students who sign up for 'Beginning Strings' will have the opportunity
to learn to play the violin or cello! Classes will be instrument specific and follow
much of the Suzuki Method. Rental fees from local vendors start around $25 per
month for violins and $35 per month for cellos. These classes will be taught by
Mr. Madole.
•If you are interested in having your child participate, then please fill out the brief
survey for each child interested at the link below:
