INTRODUCTION
Ecuador is a representative democratic republic in northwestern South America,
bordered by Colombia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean
to the west. Ecuador also includes the Galápagos Islands in the Pacific, about 1,000
kilometers (620 mi) west of the mainland. It has approximately 15.2 million people,
Spanish is the official language and is spoken by a majority of the population. The
capital city is Quito, while the largest city is Guayaquil.
Ecuador is also known for its rich ecology, hosting many endemic plants and animals,
such as those of the Galápagos Islands. It is one of seventeen mega-diverse countries in
the world, with the most species diversity per unit area. A medium-income country, its
developing economy is highly dependent on commodities, mainly petroleum and
agricultural products.
Ecuador has a total area of 283,520 km2 (109,468 sq. mi), including the Galápagos
Islands. Ecuador is bigger than Uruguay, Surinam, Guyana and French Guyana in South
America.
THE LAND
The country has four main geographic regions:
La Costa, or "the coast": The coastal region consists of the provinces to the west of the
Andean range. It is the country's most fertile and productive land, and is the seat of the
large banana exportation plantations. This region is also where most of Ecuador's rice crop
is grown. The truly coastal provinces have active fisheries.
La Sierra, or "the highlands": The Sierra consists of the Andean and Interandean highland
provinces. This land contains most of Ecuador's volcanoes and all of its snow-capped peaks.
Agriculture is focused on the traditional crops of potato, maize, and quinoa .
La Amazonía, also known as El Oriente, or "the East": The Oriente consists of the Amazon
jungle provinces. This region is primarily made up of the huge Amazon national parks and
indigenous intangible zones. It is also the area with the largest reserves of petroleum in
Ecuador.
La Región Insular: It is the region comprising the Galápagos Islands, some 1,000 kilometers
(620 mi) west of the mainland in the Pacific Ocean.
Ecuador is mostly an agricultural country and due to its geographical position, it has
plenty of micro-climates. Ecuador is privileged by the production of great variety of
fruits, flowers and vegetables of high quality and diversity.

3. COFFEE
GENERAL INFORMATION
We offer the best mountain Arabica coffee from Ecuador, grown at an altitude
of over 1200 m. Grown in privileged areas for its development, in special climate
and soil conditions. This type of coffee, harvested in the height of mountains, has a
slower ripening, which concentrates aromas as well as it´s characteristic
flavor; high acidity and aroma, medium body and a pleasant stay of flavor in every sip.
Mature beans are harvested and processed according to international quality
standards, and traditional techniques. The coffee is roasted to different degrees, in
order for you to choose your favorite.
Many people wonder why the importance of coffee in height. The reason why the tall
coffee is recognized as the best, is because just like a good wine, their maturation
process should be slow to develop their potential for flavor and aroma. Most of the
world uses widespread intensive coffee production in the plains, where production
processes are shorter and therefore more profitable for the producer. But this
technique reduces the quality of the beans, as coffee requires warm days and stand in
the cold.
Our mountain coffee offers an incredible body and flavor.
GENERAL INFORMATION
For this reason, our roasted coffee beans mature best in heights over 1200 meters,
hand-selected to provide a cup marked difference.
It is also important to note that the grains do not mature all at the same time in a plant,
so the manual harvest of ripe fruit gives homogeneity to flavor. Our growers harvest the
plant three times.
We offer two kinds of coffee:
•Coffee Arabiga (we have two different ones)
•Instant coffee
