TOWN OF JEFFERSON
ORDINANCE 04-16A
PARKING RESTRICTIONS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF US HIGHWAY 18
AND NORTH AND SOUTH HELENVILLE ROADS
The Town Board of the Town of Jefferson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, does ordain as follows:
I.
Restrictions: Pursuant to s. 346.52(h) and 346.53, Wisconsin State Stats, this
ordinance establishes parking restrictions on US Highway 18 (USH 18), North Helenville
Road, and South Helenville Road in the Town of Jefferson.
II.
Locations: At any time it shall be unlawful to park or permit any vehicle to stand at any
point as follows:
a. On either side of South Helenville Road for a distance of sixty-seven (67) feet
commencing at the centerline of USH 18.
b. On the east side of North Helenville Road for a distance of forty-nine (49) feet
commencing at the centerline of USH 18.
c. On the west side of North Helenville Road for a distance of sixty-two (62) feet
commencing from the centerline on USH 18.
d. Along the north curb of USH 18 for a distance of fifty-nine (59) feet west from the
centerline of North Helenville Road.
e. Along the south curb of USH 18 for a distance of sixty-four (64) feet west from
the centerline of South Helenville Road.
f. Along the south curb of USH 18 for a distance of sixty-three (63) feet east from
the centerline of South Helenville Road.
g. Along the south curb of USH 18 between points located at one-hundred and
twenty-four (124) feet and one-hundred and thirty-six (136) feet, east of the
centerline of South Helenville Road.
h. Along the north curb of USH 18 for a distance of sixty-seven (67) feet east of the
centerline of North Helenville Road.
i. Along the north curb of USH 18 between points located at one-hundred and
seven (107) feet and one-hundred and fifty-five (155) feet, east of the centerline
of North Helenville Road.
III.
Timed Parking: Parking shall be limited to fifteen (15) minutes along the north curb of
USH 18 between points located at one-hundred and fifty-five (155) feet and one-hundred
and seventy-five (175) feet, east of the centerline of North Helenville Road.
IV.
Markings: Restricted parking areas will be signed, and in the absence of signs will be
indicated with yellow painted curbs.
V.
Forfeitures: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a
forfeiture of $25 plus costs for each offense and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed on each day on which a violation occurs or continues.
VI.
Replacement: This ordinance replaces Town of Jefferson Ordinance 91 in its entirety.
VII.
Effective Date: This ordinance will take effect immediately upon passage, posting, and
publication as provided by law.
Adopted this 4th day of April, 2016.
