Click for Larger Image Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 1 Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 2 Yikes, shes still at it! Yep, Im talking about my mom! The difference is NOW that I know that she is not selling fleas but looking for stuff to sell at a flea market things arent so scary. She keeps saying though, I know there is more stuff here to get rid of. I just know it. What have I overlooked? My dad and I are plum worn out. Seeking refuge in the man cave is becoming a daily habit for us. Earlier this week, (in the cave, of course) as my dad was gently stroking my head, he looked down at me and said, Lucy girl, hang in there! Things will be back to normal in just a few days. The flea market brouhaha will soon be over with and your mom will be done tearing up the house. Wont it be great Saturday night when its all over with? Well have some peace and quiet again. We both love my mom, but, in regards to this flea market stuff, we think her cheese has slid off her cracker if you know what we mean! So, at supper the other night, my dad asked my mom, What are you going to do with all of your spare time after the flea market is done this weekend? After giving my dad a puzzled look she replied, Done? What ARE you talking about? There are three more flea markets after this weekend! My dad and I looked at each other and ran for the hills! Help! Wanted: Temporary home for good man and perfect dog. ~Lucy Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 2 Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 3 Its Flea Market Time! Caprese Salad Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 8 Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 9 1-1/2 pounds vine-ripened tomatoes, cored* 1 pound fresh mozzarella** 3/4 to 1 teaspoon fine salt Freshly ground black pepper 1/3 cup packed basil leaves, torn or cut into thin strips 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil Directions Slice the tomatoes and cheese into 1/4-inch thick slices. Arrange on a serving platter or individual plates in an alternating pattern. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Scatter the basil leaves over the top and drizzle with the oil. Serve at room temperature. *Tomatoes have the sweetest taste if they have never been refrigerated, so this salad is best prepared right before your meal. **Fresh mozzarella comes in a clear tub about the size of a sour cream container and will probably have 3 large or several smaller white balls of mozzarella floating in water. Or sometimes it’ll be wrapped in plastic. SEE YOU SOON!!! Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 9 Flea Market this Saturday – 2014 | 10 You’ll Love Your Garden … It’s Our Promise!
