2017 XMR Oval Racing Rules
*XMR will have a few modifications to the ISR “Snow Oval” rules as stated below.
1.
All classes:
a. There will be a minimum of 3 entries to make a class. If the class that you register for does not have
enough entries, you may enter into the next biggest CC class.
Note: Non traction snowmobiles will not be allowed to run in Super Stock or Super Mod classes.
Only in the Women’s and the Masters classes will traction and non-traction sleds be allowed to race
together.
b. Working Tail Lights are not required although a working Tail Light is recommended. (All glass or
plastic lights need to be taped to prevent shattering)

Stock Classes:
a. Cleated tracks will be allowed to run as long as all of the track cleats are in good working order. If
you intend on running a cleated track you will need to have a “Race Tech” inspect the track cleats
prior to registration of each race weekend.
b. Stock class sleds will be stock (no sled modifications or traction products will be allowed)

Women’s Classes:
a. Studding will be allowed on the outer bands of the track as long as there is a tunnel enclosure
installed.

Super Stock Classes:
a. Studding on the center band of the track is allowed, and additional studding on the outer bands of
the track will be allowed as long as there is a tunnel enclosure installed.
5.
Super Mod, Outlaw & IFS Mod Classes:
a. Silencers are not required.
b. The motor manufacture and the chassis manufacture do not need to match.
c. Studding on the center band of the track is allowed, and additional studding on the outer bands of
the track will be allowed as long as there is a tunnel enclosure installed.
d. Any hood is allowed.
*Specific Safety Items That Will Be Checked Each Race.
1. Qualified working Safety Tether Switch. (No homemade Safety Tether Switch’s)
2. Full coverage D.O.T. or Snell Qualified Helmet.
3. The use of upper body protection equipment is mandatory. (See Item# 9 of General Driver
Requirements on page 17 of the ISR Rules for qualified Tek Vests.
4. Snowmobile Clutch Guards. All sleds will need to have a clutch guard; Mod sleds will need to have an
enclosed clutch guard.
5. Snowmobiles must have visible numbers on both sides of the hood preferably 6” in height.

Classes:
1. Junior Age 10-13



0-550 Stock Fan Cooled & 0-340cc Stock Free Air Sleds may enter into this class.
1996~ and older IFS and Leaf Spring.
The use of studs and carbides will not be allowed in this class.
2. Junior Age 14-17



0-500 Stock Liquid Cooled, 0-550 Stock Fan cooled and 0-500cc Stock Free Air Sleds may enter into this class.
1996~ and older IFS and Leaf Spring.
The use of studs and carbides will not be allowed in this class.
3. Women’s Age 18 and Older



Stock & Super Stock Sleds may enter into this class.
1996~ and older IFS and Leaf Spring.
Studded and Non Studded sleds will run in this class.
4. Masters Age 50 and Older



Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class. (Stock and Super Stock only – No mod sleds)
1996~ and older IFS and Leaf Spring.
Studded and Non Studded sleds will run in this class.
5. 0-550 Fan Cooled Stock (Vintage)
 Fan cooled only.


1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
The use of studs and carbides will not be allowed in this class.
6. 0-550 Fan Cooled Super Stock (Vintage)


Fan cooled only.
1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
7. 0-500 Free Air Stock (Vintage)



All Free Air sleds run in this class. (Fan Cooled Sleds 0-550cc can enter into this class)
1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
The use of studs and carbides will not be allowed in this class.
8. 0-500 Free Air Super Stock (Vintage)


All Free Air sleds run in this class. (Fan Cooled Sleds 0-550cc can enter into this class)
1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
9. 0-500 Liquid Stock (Vintage)



Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class. (Free Airs and Fan Cooled Sleds can enter into this class)
1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
The use of studs and carbides will not be allowed in this class.
10. 0-500 Liquid Super Stock (Vintage)


Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class. (Free Airs and Fan Cooled Sleds can enter into this class)
1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
11. Single Cylinder Mod (Vintage)


Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
The motor and chassis must be 1985 and older. Leaf springs only – No IFS chassis.

12. 0-340 Super Mod (Vintage)


Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
The motor and chassis must be 1985 and older. Leaf springs only – No IFS chassis.
13. 0-500 Super Mod (Vintage)


Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
The motor and chassis must be 1985 and older. Leaf springs only – No IFS chassis.
14. 0-800 Super Mod (Vintage)


Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
The motor and chassis must be 1985 and older. Leaf springs only – No IFS chassis.
15. Outlaw – 800 cc Max (Vintage)



Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
The Chassis must be 1985 and older Leaf Spring only.
The motor must be 1999 and older.
16. 0-800 IFS Stock– 800cc Max (Classic’s)


Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
1996~ and older IFS and Leaf Spring.
17. 0-800 IFS Mod– 800cc Max (Classic’s)


Free air, Fan cooled and Liquid cooled sleds all run in this class.
1996~ and older IFS and Leaf Spring.
