Sequence of Events
The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere
1. Paul meets with his friends to decide the signal he will
use to warn the countryside the British are attacking.
They are positive the British are going to attack but they
are not sure if they are going to attack by land or by sea.
2. The signal is to hang one lantern in the church belfry if
they attack by land and two lanterns if they attack by
sea.
3. Paul then rows across the river to await the signal.
4. He sees two lanterns in the church belfry so the British
are coming by sea.
5. He jumps on his horse and warns the countryside that
the British are attacking.
6. He goes through Medford then to Lexington and finally
ends up in Concord. The battle begins!
