SVSC Minutes February 18, 2015
The meeting was called to order by President Doug Harry at 8:10 pm.
Elwood Walker presented the treasurer’s report and indicated that a new 6 month CD for $7500 was
purchased. A motion to accept the report was made by Heather, seconded by Barney and passed unanimously.
The report stands approved subject to audit.
There was some discussion regarding the use of the funds which the club has. A suggestion was made that it
should be used to primarily benefit volunteers, while others insisted that surplus funds be used to benefit all
members. It was decided that the issue would be addressed in the future.
The minutes of January 21, 2015 were approved unanimously. The motion to approve was made by Keith
Mercer and seconded by Bill Harry.
Strawberry Days are January, 5, 6, and 7. A motion to provide the initial funding was made by Barney Scholl,
seconded by Dave Adams and passed unanimously.
TRIP REPORTS
Holimont – President's Day – February 16, 2015: Helmet reported that 29 people participated. Total
revenues were $1309 and expenses $1084.61 leaving a profit of $224.39 for the club.
Holiday Valley Weekend – February 6 – 8, 2015: Michaelene reported that 31 people participated. She
stated that a number of people signed up very late and that it was a good trip with good skiing. She requested
that the club cover a deficit of $551 created by the need for additional condos, unexpected bus expenses, low
trip price and other factors. Helmet made a motion for the club to cover the deficit, seconded by Keith. The
motion passed with 19 approving and 2 opposed.
A motion was made by Keith, seconded by Barney, to prohibit the club from buying liquor for trips. The
motion passed with one member opposed and one abstaining. Members are still free to bring their own liquor.
Kissing Bridge – February 21, 2015: John Sherretts could not attend the meeting and will give his report at
a later date.

Meadville Ski Club will have a Leprechaun in the Dummy Downhill. Lets go cheer him on!

2:00 - Dummy Downhill Yodeler
3:00 - Mercy Flight Ducky Drop (from the helicopter!) Yodeler (weather permitting)

OTHER BUSINESS
Elections: Flavio Tiberia, Heather Gill and Bill Harry were selected to serve on the nominating committee
for the upcoming elections. They will have a slate of officers and board members for the March meeting,
where nominations may also be made from the floor. Elections will take place at the April Meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 9:10 pm.
