1. Division and Age Requirements
10 & Under Boys and Girls (born 2007 and 2008 minimum age 7 years)
12 & Under Boys and Girls (born2005 and 2006)
14 & Under Boys and Girls (born 2003 and 2004)
16 & Under Boys and Girls (born 2001 and 2002)
18 & Under Boys and Girls (born 1999 and 2000)
2. Fees and Nominations
Team nomination fees are $180.00 per team (includes GST). Team nominations and
payments are due in top Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association by Sunday 28th
May 2017. BMTA preferred method of payment is direct deposit into the following
account:

3. Refunds
If an affiliate pulls out a team after the closing date, Sunday 28th May 2017, BMTA
will not refund the team entry fee.
4. Team Numbers Age Groups
U10 teams can register up to 12 players per team and U12 teams and up can register
a maximum of 14 players per team. If a team is found guilty of using unregistered
players or more than 14 players the team may be disqualified from the competition.
5. Managers Meeting
There will be a Managers Meeting held in the BMTA clubhouse on Sunday 11th June
2017 30 minutes before the first timeslot. It is compulsory that one representative
from each team must attend. All team registration sheets must be handed in at the
meeting and the final draw will be released.
6. Team and Player Eligibility
All players must be fully financial, registered members of an Affiliated Association to
Touch Football Australia Season 2 of 2016 or Season 1 of 2017. It is the
responsibility of each affiliate to ensure all your players are eligible.
7. Insurance
The TFA Accident Insurance Scheme covers all players, referees and officials who
have met the insurance criteria. For this tournament the player must be registered
and fully financial with the Association he/she is representing.
8. Referees
Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association will be supplying all referees for the
Mustang Cup tournament. Any referee wishing to take part in the junior tournament
please contact Mitch Felsman on 0413 802 103 or [email protected]. Referees
are required to wear the standard uniform. Referees will be paid as follows:
Division
10’s
12’s and 14’s
16’s and 18’s
Payment Amount
$10.00 solo (only 1 referee or these games)
$15.00 per solo and $10.00 per dual
$15.00 per dual or $10.00 per triple no solos
BMTA will not make any referee payments on the day. Referees will be required to
complete a form from BMTA and also provide banking details (BSB, ACC number,
bank, A/C name) at the administration area at the start of the day. All referees will
be paid by Wednesday 14th June 2017.
9. Code of Conduct
It is the responsibility of each Team to ensure team officials and players act in an
appropriate manner and in the spirit of the game. Brisbane Metropolitan Touch
Association Tournament Committee will have the power to control behaviour at the
tournament and penalize players/teams for misconduct.
10. Competition Format
The competition will be based on the following:
i) Round Games – (depending on numbers, teams will be split into pools)
ii) Position for the Finals will be determined as follows:
Single Pool
1. Teams will be ranked on points.
2. If equal – Difference (For - Against)
3. If equal – Percentages
4. If equal – Touchdowns For
5. If equal – Touchdowns Against
Multi Pool
1. 1st Pool A vs 2nd Pool B & 1st Pool B vs 2nd Pool A
2. If equal – Difference (For - Against)
3. If equal – Percentages
4. If equal – Touchdowns For
5. If equal – Touchdowns Against
Any drawn Semi Finals and/or Finals will be determined by a Drop Off.
11. Competition Points and Rules
For all Round Games competition points will be awarded on the results obtained:
Win = 3 points
Draw = 2 points
Loss = 1 point
Forfeit = Zero Points
12. Game Duration
All games shall be 25 minutes in duration – no halftime break, with both teams afforded the
tap off opportunity. Teams shall not be required to reverse direction on the scoring of a
touchdown. Both teams shall have a chance to tap off to commence the game. The team
that wins the toss shall have the choice whether they tap first or second. Once the team that
taps first has lost possession, the teams come back to half way to commence the tap for the
second team. Play shall continue as usual from this point. Drop offs will only apply to
quarters, semis and finals.
13. Warm-Up/Tent Areas
A map will be distributed prior to the event nominating tent and warm-up areas. Any
tents not set up in a designated area will be asked to move.
14. Tournament Control
The tournament committee is in control of all matters on the day of the event. The
Committee will be in control of any issues not stated in the Conditions of Entry. The
tournament committee holds the right to amend the Conditions of Entry were
required.
15. Wet Weather
If wet weather occurs the Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association will be in contact
with all nominated representatives after a decision has been made and this
information will also be posted on the BMTA website and Facebook page.
16. Canteen
The BMTA Canteen/Café will be open on the day of the carnival. Please see attached
BMTA Café Metro’s breakfast menu starting at 7am on the day of the Mustang
Junior Cup carnival.
17. No Parking / Ambulance Gate
No persons are permitted to park their vehicles in No parking areas or in front of the
designated Ambulance gate under any circumstances.
18. Balls
All teams are required to provide their own team playing ball on the carnival day.
