Promoting your App on LinkedIn
Introduction
LinkedIn is a fantastic place to promote your new App to your connections. If it’s done correctly it can be a
great way to promote your App at no cost. Ensuring your clients and potential customers download your
new App. Once it’s on their phone, you can then communicate and interact with them in a new and time
efficient way.

Your personal profile 100% complete
Each senior team member within your firm needs to use their own personal profiles to promote your new
App. This is best done once you have set up your new App as a product on your company profile (see
below). You can then share the product with your entire network, get recommendations for your new App
through LinkedIn and raise your firms profile online.

effectively a mini-website for your firm, but it is located on Linked to make it easy for LinkedIn members
to find.
Your company page will always appear when a LinkedIn member types in your company’s name. Because
LinkedIn is a trusted source by Google, your LinkedIn page will rank in Google search results. For these
reasons, you need to make sure your company page is complete and updated with your latest news, and
that includes your brand new App.

Adding your App as a new product or service
1. Go to your LinkedIn company page by visiting www.linkedin.com and clicking companies in the top
navigation and then click on your company in the drop down, or use the company search box.
2. This will take you to your company profile, below is an example of a brand new company page.
3a. Next you want to click ‘Edit’ a product or service, which is the blue button on the right hand side.

5. Congratulations you have now added your exciting App as a product on LinkedIn company page. That’s
a great first step; the next job is to get as many people as possible to see it. And that can start right away, by
sharing your new product with your followers and to your personal connections.
6. Share your new product, go back to your products page and select your new App and click the ‘share’
button at the bottom.

You now have the option to share your new product with your connections, followers and network. If you
have multiple staff using LinkedIn then it is well worth asking each of them to ‘share’ your new App to their
network as well, preferably on different days.
The share box will populate at the top with the information you have already provided for your new App
product. You now need to fill in the white box at the bottom with the update you wish to share with your
network. We recommend that you share it with individuals and groups; the more people view and use your
App the better.
7. Ask for recommendations
One of the great ways to get your App downloaded and used is to et recommendations. Simply click on
‘Request Recommendations’ rather than Share and then edit the recommendation box.
Simply choose who to send it to and what to say, something like.

I am sending this to ask you for your brief, but valued recommendation of our new free App that we can
include on our company LinkedIn page.
