Instructions
1.Adjust the seat height to align the mid-chest with the top of the chest pad.
2. Keeping feet firmly on the floor, adjust the chest pad position to allow full arm
extension.
3. Check the weight stack to ensure appropriate resistance. You want a resistance that
you think you can do more than 5 repetitions but less than 12 repetitions.
4. Grip the handles in a neutral grip position.
Performing the Exercise
5. Stabilize the body in position, pressing feet firmly on the floor, preventing excessive
pressure on the chest pad. With a controlled motion, draw back the arms until the elbow
joint is less than 90 degrees (two seconds). Return the handles to the start position
without letting the resistance rest on the stack (two seconds). Repeat while maintaining
proper body positioning.
6. A repetition is counted when you go from the arms extended position, pull the handles
towards your chest, and return the handles back to the arms extended position.
9. Do as many repetitions as you can and record the weight and repetitions below.
10. For the retest, you will use the exact same weight and settings.
