SCRIP FAQ’S
Q. What is SCRIP?
A. SCRIP is another word for “substitute money”. National and local retailers have partnered with SCRIP to offer
rebates on the purchase of their gift cards. These rebates are banked on your behalf by Gilbert Christian to be applied
to your tuition account.
Q. Who do I call if I have questions or need assistance with my SCRIP account?
A. All questions regarding the SCRIP program should be directed to Sandy Hamberg at the K‐8 Campus Office. Office
hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. She may be reached at 480‐279‐1366 or email her at trip@gcs‐hs.org.
Q. What kind of rebates can I expect?
A. Each retailer has different rebates attached to their cards. Rebates range from 1.5% to 15+%. You can find a full list
of rebate percentages online at ShowWithScrip.com. ShopWithScrip also offers specials and bonuses throughout the
year, and continuously adds new retailers as well.
Q. How much of the rebate earned goes toward my tuition?
A. The GCS Tuition Reduction Incentive Program breaks out the monies in the following manner:
20% ‐ Administration Expense
80% ‐ Tuition
Q. Can others purchase SCRIP gift cards and direct the rebate to my child?
A. Yes! We encourage each family to be creative in getting others to purchase SCRIP through your account. If your
family and/or friends are unable to add to your order directly, they can register their own account (with rebates
assigned to your family’s account).
Q. My child will not be attending GCS until next year. Can I participate in the program and apply the monies next
year?
A. YES! Families looking to enroll their child/children at GCS in the future can utilize the BANK IT program.
Q. What is the BANK IT program?
A. The BANK IT program allows families to utilize the GCS Tuition Reduction Program by “Banking” their earned rebates
for future enrollment of their child/children. There is a 12‐month maximum for “Banking” your rebates.
Q. How often will the rebate be paid out?
A. GCS will process the rebate monies twice a year in October and in April. For questions regarding rebates, please
contact James Dragonette at 480‐699‐1215 or jdragonette@gcs‐hs.org.
Q. What is the GCS Enrollment Code for www.ShowWithScrip.com?
A. Please contact trip@gcs‐hs.org to receive the Enrollment Code.
Q. Can I designate my monies to another family or area?
A. YES! There is a great ministry component to the GCS SCRIP Program. Every participant can designate where they
would like their monies to be applied. If you would like to make changes, log on to your account at
www.ShopWithScrip.com. Go to “Change Profile/Password” and you can select where you would like your monies to
be credited.
Q. If I apply my rebates to another area other than my tuition account, am I able to take a tax deduction on this
account?
A. No. Since each family is receiving a gift card at face value for the purchase price, this transaction is considered a
“fundraising activity”.
Q. How often can I buy SCRIP?
A. Orders for SCRIP are placed each Monday at 9:00 a.m. Any order received by this day and time will be available for
pick up on Thursday morning from the K8 or High School Office.
Q. When and where do I pick up my SCRIP order?
A. Orders may be picked up beginning on Thursday mornings and anytime thereafter from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Q. How do I pay for my SCRIP order?
A. We only accept PrestoPay for payment. All orders must be placed online using PrestoPay. There is a convenience
fee of .15 cents for each order.
Q. Can my student pick up my order?
A. Every SCRIP order requires signed authorization before we will release your SCRIP order. We will release orders to
our Middle School and High School students at parent’s request. Parents of students in Pre K‐5th grade are required to
pick up their orders. GCS is NOT responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced cards.
