To help save a portion of the Willow Run Bomber Plant
The Yankee Air Museum Rosies invite women and girls of all ages to “Rosie
up” and join us as we make our Second Attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD
RECORD for “The Most Rosie The Riveters In One Place.” Minors must
be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. You must be in FULL ROSIE
GEAR TO BE COUNTED FOR THE RECORD.
WHAT: “Largest Number of People Dressed as Rosie the Riveter in One Place”
WHEN: SATURDAY MARCH 29, 2014 – Registration begins: 2:00pm – Actual
Guinness World Record Photo Event: 4:30pm (photo event will take place indoors)
WHERE: Willow Run Airport Hangar One, on Kirk Profit Drive (appears as Willow
Run Airport Drive on Google Maps), just west of the intersection of Airport Drive and
Tyler Road, Ypsilanti Twp., MI

NO FADED DENIM JEANS - very very dark
denim only
NO DENIM SHIRTS - only solid dark blue
fabric that is not denim - no bare midriffs:
must be long-sleeved & rolled up
NO BIB OVERALLS - NO TSHIRTS - NO
SWEATS
NO high heels - NO colored shoes
NO white shoes - NO athletic shoes
Record, and Guinness is picky. A very large turnout is expected,
so please allow adequate time for check in so you can be part of
this historic event. Check in may take more than an hour. Chairs
will be available for elderly Rosies. Minors must be accompanied
by a PARENT or LEGAL GUARDIAN. No pets, please.
To be Counted as a Rosie You Must Wear the Following:
--Red Bandanna with LARGE-size white polka dots tied at the top
of the head. The bandanna can cover the back and top of the
head, or be folded so the back of your hair shows, but if so, hair
should be “pinned up” and not hanging down long or in a ponytail
--DARK BLUE LONG-SLEEVE workers coveralls, OR LONG-SLEEVE
DARK BLUE COLLARED SHIRT and DARK BLUE PANTS or VERY
DARK BLUE JEANS (not faded)
--Roll up your sleeves to show some of your forearm, and roll up
your pant legs to show the red socks
--Red knee socks (solid red)
--Black workboots or workshoes (or as close as you can get, as
long as they’re black), OR brown workboots.

Costume SOURCES: The LARGE-DOT cotton bandanna fabric is available at Joann Fabrics, and the pattern is named “Lipstick.”
Allow one yard per bandanna. Pre-made bandannas will be available for purchase to benefit SaveTheBomberPlant.org at the
event for $10 (cash or check only), or can be pre-ordered for $8 for pickup at the event by emailing [email protected]. Plain red
soccer socks are available at Dunhams and MC Sports. Tractor Supply has DARK BLUE work coveralls. The Salvation Army and
Value Village are good places for a DARK BLUE COLLARED shirt and DARK BLUE pants.
DIRECTIONS: From Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and West: I-94 East
to EXIT 185 – After exiting, drive through stoplight and EXIT
RIGHT under sign WILLOW RUN AIRPORT WEST ACCESS – Follow the curve to the right onto Willow Run Expressway Southbound, TURN LEFT at TYLER ROAD (stoplight) – Follow Tyler
Road to the end, where it will curve to the left – 400 feet around
the curve TURN RIGHT at KIRK PROFIT DRIVE – The Rosie Gathering will be in the long building on your right (Hangar One.)
DIRECTIONS: From Detroit and East: I-94 West to EXIT 186 –
Exit to the right at the Willow Run Airport exit (just after passing
Rawsonville Road) - Follow the curve to the right onto the Willow
Run Expressway Northbound – TURN RIGHT at WILLOW RUN
AIRPORT sign (Tyler Road) – Follow Tyler Road to the end where
it will curve to the left – 400 feet around the curve TURN RIGHT
at KIRK PROFIT DRIVE – The Rosie Gathering will be in the long
building on your right (Hangar One.)
